Getting fed up with my fuel economy

Posted about this last week and got some helpful tips. Since I got my LFX last month my mpg has been around 14, that's it. I'm on my 5th or 6th tank of gas already. And I use 93 octane. The last two times I filled it up, or almost filled it I erase the mpg information. Did it again yesterday and it's around 14mpg again! The only thing I can think is I still haven't drove on highway for more than 10 minutes. I'm almost at 1000 miles, wanted to break it in for the first thousand miles. Bottom line is I'm sick of putting $60 in my car every few days. I don't have a v8 and I dont wanna pay like I have one. Help please.
Also haw many gallons does the camaro hold?

the tank holds 18 gallons if I'm correct, and i know how you feel, you need to hop on the highway more to get the results you want. I live in LA, so right now I'm averaging 17 since i always try and get on the freeway to get the most out of my tank as possible, once you cross 1500 miles, it should start to look slightly better, but remember, more freeway if possible

My LFX is doing fine...

I have about 750 miles now and the DIC shows 17.4 mpg. My own calculation shows the last tank got 17.9.

Edit: Forgot to mention I am using 89

Your car is not getting any benefit from using 93 octane fuel. It's tuned to run on 87.

Why not try 87 octane. At worst, you'll save 20 bucks a week.

I get on average 26 to 28 mpg, but I do a lot of highway driving. The stop and go of city driving will bring my average down very quickly.

Tank holds 19 gallons just FYI. Well I'll be honest here. That 14 mpg is you're own fault. I do mostly city driving and I'm getting about 17 ish. Just no jack-rabbit starts, coast a bit more, and try not to accelerate too quickly (I know that it's hard with these cars). Also, can't you put 89 in the V6? I'm legit asking here because I don't know.

Well I didn't like the way the car sounded the first week, I didn't know if it was bc it was brand new or something else. I made a thread about it I think. It made a weird noise when driving under 2-2.5 rpms.. I haven't noticed it since I've been putting in 93 but that. Itht just be in my head. As long as putting 93 in isn't hurting it, I feel better knowing its getting the best. Also I get 10 and sometimes 29 cents off per gallon at shell so it evens out.

I have been averaging around 22.5 mpg so far and I was hoping it would be better. I drive 20 miles highway and 20 miles back roads on my way to/from work. A car guy at work told me it should get better after break in. I'm at only about 800 miles now.

I'm running 87 because I'm cheap.

So I haven't been filling it up, only puttin in 16. Thanks.
I know you think the crappy mpg is my fault but it cant be!! If anything I don't gun it enough. I try to wait til engine is warm, don't punch peddle, don't stop short, def. don't burn out. I wanted to take it easy on this car for a while. I don't know anything I could be doing wrong other than maybe I need to actually give it more punch and coast instead of keep hitting gas and stay at low rpms..I have no idea I'm confusing myself with this. It just doesn't seem right.

The new shell next to me has 87,89&91. I just choose 91 over 89.

Please no smart ass comments. ^
I have a 3.6 v6, not a 8 banger. I figure 17-18 would be fine since I'm not using highway right now, but 14 is just bad.
