Interior Question - Light Colored Leather

Found an ashen gray vert locally has everything I would get in a 2SS (doesnt have polished wheels but I am on the fence with that) EXCEPT it has black/light gray leather interior. Anyone have any issues with the lighter colored leather interior. I am more of a fan of all black interior myself.

Thanks!

I have the gray interior and love it . No problems here . I always go for black interior myself , much easier to maintain . I really liked the gray so I went for it and found it is not that hard to keep up on . Also it seems like it is holding up well but I have only had the car 7 months . Good luck ....

My black/beige interior still looks like new. The leather seems a little thin and does tend to wrinkle but so far so good with 6500 on the odometer. Mine is also a vert.

I was going to do black, but the contrast of gray and black or tan and black makes a huge difference. The black just kinda gets boring and runs together since the rest of the interior is black.

I chose tan because, unlike the gray, the carpet stays black. Gray has light carpet.

black& gray interior

I have the black and gray interior on my 2010 SIM SS. No problems with the leather and I think that it makes the interior look bigger. The all black interior makes the interior look too dark.

keep it cleaned which is pretty easy and enjoy the pop of a light interior,
lots of compliments from people who always see the black ones

I shopped long and hard for a car with light interior. Here in S.TX, black interior is murder in the summer (routinely over 100 degrees). I am a full time student so my car sits out during the day. Even with a sun shield it is awful (had black leather for the last 5 years).

No eating in my car and I put a towel over the seat when I drink coffee.

I usually lean toward black interior myself, but in a 'vert, gray might be the better (read:cooler) choice.

The only pitfall with the lighter leather is that dirt will stain it on the "friction areas" such as the seat bolsters that you slide across to get in and out of the car... If you want to keep it looking pristine, you should probably wash it as soon as you can see any dirt on the edges in full sunlight. A microfiber towel and warm water works wonders... I wipe down my beige surfaces about once a month and it looks new still.

But one serious warning. Never wear unwashed jeans... the blue will rub off everywhere!

The lighter color, will make the interior appear more open and less claustrophobic.

That's why I went with the IOM interior on my car. As with any leather, take care of it. I go over mine several times per year with cleaner and conditioner.

I would go one step further, I don't allow any Denim in my car. It is very hard on leather.

Those are two major issues with light colored leather interior, thats one reason why I didn't get the Orange interior in mine, the outer seat bolsters and lower cushions look dirty after awhile, only if you wear jeans its not dirt, its the Blue dye from the jeans!

Whatever you do... If you get the gray interior get aftermarket mats! Otherwise your OEM ones will look disgusting within the first 2 weeks. I use cheap dark gray mats from autozone and replace them once they start wrinkling up on the sides and getting worn. And they don't look out of place. Besides the light carpet, I think gray is the best ofthe 3 interiors.
