Pontiac G8 50 Cent Edition

http://jalopnik.com/cars/sema/sema-2...-g8-317180.php

Though the styling isn't what _I_ would do, the engine certainly is! 550hp LSX! Hell Yeah!

It's pretty bad a$$, and I am happy that 50 left most of the car alone... it really shows it off nicely.

I would have thought GM was in a better position then to use that 2 hit wonder.

For a rapper designed car at SEMA, that is pretty nicely styled. I think they did a great job with it, and the best part is the engine. Finally a show car that isn't just cosmetic upgrades.

I was about to say something about the "special" edition...

Then, I saw the LSX 427 cube under the hood. I said...........never mind. That dude knows how to properly upgrade his ride....

That is the first stripe I've ever seen on a car that I have liked.

The thin, understated, stripe is MUCH more attractive than the two wide gaudy ones usually seen on cars.

Nice looking G8 imo.

the only chrome i see is on the wheels, or am do i need to have my eyes checked? I like the fact that they did no exterior mods other than the paint, it just shows you that it is a good looking car right off the showroom floor .

I like the color scheme...the red w/ skinny balck stripe makes it look totally bada$$, even more than it already was...

But I can't take it when people put wheels on cars like that...To each his own, but I don't know what it is...I've seen 'em on trucks, I've seen 'em on Chargers, I've seen 'em on f-bodys, other cars, ricers, you name it...
And they all make me cringe...

You know I love the G8, I think it looks great and it's a fall to car if I could not get the Camaro (while not realistic since it's about 30K) BUT....BUT....BUT...

THIS, I HAVE AGAINST YOU GM!!!!!!

They forced an automatic on this car AND I HATE WHEN CAR MAKERS DO THIS!!! For me, if there is no stick option then you lost me as a customer, PERIOD!

I love the G8, but now because of the automatics I would not consider it.

I hope someone reads this and tells me I'm wrong about the no stick option, but I think I'm right about that.

I'm not sure what is going on with the G8 and its manual. Initial reports were that it wasn't going to be initially released with a manual, but one would come a few months into the 2008 model year. Then I heard it wouldn't be introduced until the 2009 model year, if at all. They say it might earn the G8 a gas guzzler tax (what happened to manuals being more efficient?) so no guarantees it will ever have a manual. My thoughts on the matter is that the G8 is more of a cruiser anyway with its size. It can handle rather well (bodes very, very well for the Camaro) but it isn't exactly the must-have car for the track. So perhaps a manual wouldn't be the best fit in the G8, but I'm still hoping for a smaller RWD V8 powered sedan or coupe from Pontiac, so hopefully that will be given a proper manual. Sadly, so many manufacturers are moving away from the manual, either not offering one or not developing good ones, and GM, while still making good manual transmissions, seems to be part of this trend.
