In 2015 (coincidentally, when the warranty, payments, and the next generation are out), I'll make the decision on whether to keep my car and mod it, or trade it in for a 6th gen Z/28.
I'll be about 30 then, so whether we decide to have kids anytime around then will play into the decision to keep or trade up. If we do decide to have kids, we'll have to get a beater car to haul them around in.

My ABM 1SS is not my daily driver and stays in the garage during bad weather. I'll keep it as long as I can. I had a gold '81 firebird that threw a piston rod in my driveway one cold winter morning way back when I was first married. I had to basically sell it for scrap and buy a Honda Civic hatchback that my wife drove...talk about hurt.
BTW...I lived in Connecticut at the time and understand high taxes. But we have to pay for the things we need...good schools, good defence, good roads and good police protection. Taxes are the price we pay to live in a civilized socitety. |

I don't plan on getting rid of mine anytime soon. It's the 3rd Camaro I have owned and I have yet to sell any of them! The first Camaro I owned is my 76 Camaro Type LT which was my first car. The second is a 88 Iroc Z, 305 TPI, and the 3rd is my 2SS/RS. I may part ways with the 88 in the next year or two, but the 76 and 2010 will be part of the family for a long time to come.

If I do part with it, I plan to keep it in the family. My 13-year-old nephew loves to ride shotgun, and I have said to him more than once, "One day, maybe this car will be yours." It lights him up, and makes me very proud.

depends on what a used c6 zo6 is going for in a couple of years i might be tempted. that or what the z28 is like. or if the gt 500 looses those horrible taillights.

I will keep it as long as I can. But I bought it to DRIVE it and not for it to sit and be all original and stuff. So in other words I'm going to drive it and enjoy it as long as I possibly can.

Wow, well I had a 1971 Z28 I miss a lot and regret selling, I had a 1968 Z28 I also miss a lot and regret selling. I did own a 86 Berlinetta I put a H.O. big block in and really don't regret letting it go, I loved the T tops but I was young and the car was trouble lol!
I am waiting for the Z28 or possibly a convertible, (convertible Z28 maybe! hint hint GM). I do think I will eventually replace my 1968 Z28 and 1971 Z28 and I will keep my 5th gen. 3rd gen was fun but man I got into lots of trouble! never was huge on the 4th gen tbh, but man 1st 2nd and 5th gen are SO SO AWESOME! MAN WHERE'S MY Z28! Curious about how 6th gen will look and if the weight will truly be reduced significantly.

This is my first car, I ordered it to my taste, worked 2 jobs for a while to get it, and every cent came out of MY pocket. They will probably have to bury me in this car.

In 1972 I factory ordered a Nova SS and after a few years got board and sold it, then I bought a Corvette and then I settled down and raised babies. In 2000 bought a Jeep Wrangler Sahara off the show room floor and it is 10 and a half years old and just turned 31,000. miles. I found the 2SS,6A,RS,Transformer that fit my pocket book and now my Camaro and Wrangler sit nose to nose. I just turned sixty and if I can continue to get into them they will be part of my estate for my Wife to decide what to do with. Installed a CAI Inc over the weekend and did enjoy the Woc!! upon acceleration. It is fun to have all those horses, but I am dreading my first ticket for showing off. I can just hear the officer telling me I am too old to be acting like that. Having fun. n116ebo

I had to pay the sales tax in the state I registered the car, which is NY, where I live and drive....:( 3 times as much!!!... Fortunately, we were all able to deduct the sales tax for any new car purchased in 2009, so that helped 'ease the pain' a bit....
