M5 is no joke, love the videos of M5's eating ferrari's but they are money, technology is great, but it starts bumping out the joe shmoe's ability to maintain his own ride without $100,000 analyzers and tools

My biggest pet peeve with 90% of bmw owners is this holier than though attitude and the seeming lack of desire to work on their own cars....pay for the $150 oil service, if you can't afford to change the oil at the dealership or change your own brakes or plugs or whatever the average joe should be able to do in his driveway, then you shouldn't own it...hated that the most. Then you run into the cool ones that can manage that and realize bmw's aren't the only car to own, but some just prefer the marquee like other brand fanboys from any of the big 3. not all bmw folks are bad
Hey I'm one of those BMW owner's that does actually do the work on all of my cars... Growing up I was always a true blue to the bowtie guy. As I got older, switched over to BMW's but kept working on them. With a Camaro back in the garage, as the fun car, I have the best of all worlds!

I loved working on my 3er, swapped out the diff for a 3.46 and added a kaaz limited slip, did the cat back on it, cai, oil changes, spark plugs, brakes, coilovers, had the dual vanos tool, but never did try to swap out the cams, sold it to a guy that has basically taught himself how to be a bmw master mechanic and he has 2 3er monsters, a 330 zhp sedan with a built motor and stage 3 s/c setup and a 330 wagon (swapped in the stock 3.0 from the sedan) running a stage 1 superchager, maybe a stage 2.

Some folks can work their own bmws, but most won't which is sad...but I guess to be kind of expected. Again, technology is cool, but it makes the normal maintenance stuff guys/girls should be able to do on their own get harder and harder to accomplish like before.

I'm a diehard chevy guy however I tried a BMW as my last car. Black M3 it was a fun car and handled awsome !!!!!!!!!!! cost a lot to fix with very interesting technology that we are just now getting today in our cars.

I remember getting pulled over once by a cop he asked if I would step out just so he could run my tags ( wtf ) I didnt get a ticket however he handed me my license and said Boy are you confused????? I am whats with the BMW but you are wearing a Chevy Racing Shirt.

I laughed and told him I needed a beater he liked that and walked away.

it was fun however im back to my PRIDE.

Its awesome to see the BMW guys giving Chevy any credit at all, let alone respect. I enjoyed reading that thread.

Well I have to say its not like a bunch of you guys here are acting any different. I came from a BMW I absolutely loved the car, How many Camaro owners take their car to the dealership for oil changes? It goes both ways, and they are completely different cars.

Exactly, both are cool cars. BMWs are more expensive and have more luxury. And you pay more. What is cool is that TT 335s can run 11s with a CAI, tune, and DRs. Can the Camaro do that? But for me the BMWs are not as much fun. Back to a V8 once the lease is over. Coyote or LS3?

I love how everyone picks on the interior. I love the interior on the Camaro, I don't understand why everyone says its ugly. It is supposed to look retro and it looks way more interesting than the BMWs boring interior.

No more beamers for me

Got rid of my 2007 335I for a Silver SS - I couldn't be happier. The Camaro is just simply a much cooler car in all aspects - exterior/interior etc. Good riddance to my beamer - really a waste of $s in my eyes now. Sure the 0-60 times aren't that much different - but that V8 just sounds so much more powerful. I've said this before on the forum but no one ever turned their head at the 335i - it's basically an every other car I pass occurence in my SS

It's great to see that a Camaro can compete and win against the 335is and G37s of the world - and not just Mustangs any more.

I couldn't agree more. Every time I see a Camaro SS I nearly break my neck turning to look at it. I give as much attention to BMW's as I would a mini van. There's a guy that lives by us that has a white 5th Gen SS with white and grey interior and man that car is sexy. I have a few friends that don't like the way the 2010 SS looks but I just cannot find anything that I dislike about the car. It looks good, sounds good and is an American icon. What's not to like? BTW big ole thumbs up to you for ditching the Beemer and getting the Camaro SS.
