I don't think Pete posted this, here. Latest round of the Optima Challenge from Road America, featuring one Danny Popp at the wheel of the now-infamous L/28...

Enjoy!

Can't do a burn out in the Audi. Damn AWD!!!! But for a sedan it handles like a slot car. Yay AWD.

You can do a 4 wheel burnout if you have enough torque!

Orrrrrr a willingness to abuse ones car to levels one is not comfortable with. She has plenty of torque. Just on the few tries I've made at a "hard launch"..............it has just launched hard. No tire spinning just acceleration. And that's with All Seasons.

That's the preferred result anyway.

...there you go!....you are preaching to the choir! That's what performance car ownership is all about. Amen brother!

So just got back from a little road trip into Wisconsin.

What does it say when the Audi, now broken in, can match the Cruze for highway crusising?

It weighs 700 pounds more, AWD ANNNNNND well over double the HP.

So here is a game, using REAL WORLD cruising speeds, name a sub 5 second car that can turn 32+ mpg.

GM needs to work on that real world FE. I can get great numbers if I drive 62 mph. But the Real World speed sorta dops to 32 with the Cruze

I could never get much better than 40 on my Ducati or BMW. 50 is pretty good for that much fun.
