Who is paying markup?
I went down to a Chevy dealership in Fairfax,Va and they had two SS. One was Orange and the other was Black. My mind was blown when the salesman told me that they bought these two SS from a closed dealer. for a standard SS1 6 spd they wanted 46K!!!!!
So, my question is: Who the hell are paying these crazy markups???? Really!?!? I hope no one from Camaro5.

We all know better but someone somewhere will pay it sadly enough. I hope they all sit and sit. Some dealers say they marked them up cause they bought them somewhere else at msrp well i still hope they sit and I hope they lose a little money for it.

I know when it comes time for mine, I'm not paying a cent over MSRP, and that's at the max I'll spend. Buying a car with cash and no financing involved gives you a little bit of leverage... -evil grin-

Actually most of the time it doesn't in the modern world. Dealers would rather finance and make more money that way. Under certain circumstances cash helps but not like it did back in the old days. Also helps if its something thats not in as big of a demand. I paid cash for my civic in 07 and the dealer actually let me walk out over a thousand bucks, it was the only civic si with navi i could find at 15 dealers I called and I went back the next day and met them in the middle I ate 500 and they did. I'm paying cash for the maro too but I am happy with MSRP, if there were 20 sitting at every dealer we might get below msrp but not much room when ordering a car. Sorry for the hijack.

Yeah, don't get me wrong. If I could get one now without completely f*cking up my financial status down the road, by all means, I would have one in my driveway right now. But I'm young, with one entry on my credit history, which just so happens to be a blemish. Couldn't get any kind of financing about a year ago when I tried to get a (don't laugh) Tiburon because of it. So I'm in the process of getting that taken care of, then getting the credit back on track before I try something with financing again. Kind of sucks but at least I learned quickly not to screw around with credit.
