We have 10-12 Camaros headed out to Benson Thursday night. Everything from drag cars to totally stock. Not everyone will run their cars but there will be plenty of Camaro action! $5 to get in $10 to run your car. Helmet required. Some will be there when gates open at 5 others are coming when the business day wraps up. Come on out and join us if you can.

Dunn Benson? We raced there years ago and they had guys with shorts and wife beater T shirts running dragsters. I take it they tightened up safety a little since then?

Ha. Yeah, those were the days. I didn't run there much then because we would go to Kinston where it was still a 1/4 after Benson went to 1/8th.
Dunn Benson was built on family land and at one point family members still lived on the premises. They leased it to someone else to run years ago. That person has since bought the place.

I went there last year. I didn't wear any helmet. Did it change this year?

I have not been in a while so I asked my buddy for details. He said helmet but he runs 7s. Just saw this on the web site, the first line speaks directly to SC2150:

Long pants, shirts, shoes are required in all classes unless a fire suit or coat is required by IHRA rules. Anyone running 8.00 or quicker in the 1/8 mile is required to wear a helmet although it is recommended for all classes.

We will def be there Gregg also planning a run to the movies on sunday the 1st to see Fast5 if yall are up for it not sure what theatre yet....If anyone else in the Raleigh area wants to come yall are welcome to...

Its a 1/8th mile. I made the top 10 on here for fastest stock time. Its a good track IMO.

What time did you run? I may try my stock 2010 this thursday. If so it will be the first time I've run it. I actually had both my cars lined up and we were next to stage when the rains came at Camaros For Heroes. Even then we were going to run both cars side by side for the pass. More of a photo op than a grudge match..

I ran a 8.608. Not to shabby after only 4 passes on the car and not being used to the clutch. Also I've never been to that track. It was pretty warm that night too.
