What to expect with a CAI
Im throwing on an airaid CAI tonight. What should I expect in terms of feel and performance? Also, I already have an SLP axleback1 exhaust. With that and the CAI can I expect 450 crank hp? I have an M6. Airaid advertises a 16-20 hp gain with just the CAI.

I'm not a car wiz, but I'm guessing if its a A6 its like 410-415 hp and M6 430-435.
Please do correct me if I'm wrong, as I said I'm not a car wiz

You won't really feel the performance improvement. The most dynos really show with the CAI only set up are 20lb/ft and that's only a 5% torque improvement max. You won't really feel that in your butt, especially since traction control kicks in very easily with the stock setup and you still don't feel the full potential of this car during everyday driving. You may notice a difference in timed track runs though.
One good thing is that you will definitely notice an improvement in WOT sound as aftermarket CAI systems do not have any noise reducing Helmholtz chambers like the stock air box.

You'll probably break an axle. Be careful.

By itself...not much other than sound. Added with other performance mods, you might see a notable combined increase, but one component at a time...probably not much.
