Dirty Throttle Body

I need your opinion on my throttle body. I pulled off the air intake today and noticed my throttle body was coated. I am using a Mike Norris can.Name: ImageUploadedByTapatalk 21376174088.652424.jpg

That's not good at all. Have you seen the inside of your Mike Norris catch can? What type of design is it?

I thought so too. I took my tb off to swap with a guy at work that wanted a ported one and was impressed on how clean even the intake was.

Okay guys I got to the bottom of it. The Mike Norris can lines install backwards to traditional catch cans. The top inlet is the dirty side and the side outlet is the clean side. I had them backwards. Will try it out for a few days to see if it stays clean. Went ahead and changed out to fresh lines and cleaned the mess up.

Did you take your Intake off and clean it out? Or are you gonna run some seafoam through it?

Stuck my hand and a rag in there the best I could. It will work itself out.

I've never done seafoam before. Always seemed gimmecky to me...snake oil. Probably wrong though.

I'm going to respectfully tell you you're wrong, lol. I highly recommend you do it. Even if you're skeptical, watch some videos on Youtube of what happens when someone seafoams their car that has had a lot of oil ingestion due to a crappy PCV system.

Either way, it's 8$ a can, so it's not going to break your pockets even if you still don't think it's effective.

Might give it a shot. Swapping out my valve covers and doing a fuel line, evap line, and coolant line relocation this coming week so perfect opportunity.

Good to hear you found the problem. I have a couple questions to help me out so this does not happen again.

Did you get this from me or one of my dealers?

Was there instructions that came with the catch can?

There should have been a basic instruction sheet that I send out with each unit as well as 1 for every unit ordered from my dealers.

Let me know and thanks.

That oil could also be coming from the clean side. Check the inside of your intake for oil. If it has allot in it, it is from the clean side coming from the vacuum line going into the air intake.
