God i hope not, i would hate to see a turbo V6 in a Z/28. Like i have said many times a small displacement V8 (5.3L) would suit the best. Make that sucker rev and you'll have a winner!!

Would be sweet if it was. It would fit nicely between the power of the SS and ZL1 if they did it right.

I believe your Right, with the weight being already 50/50 for the V6 all it needs is the power.

Turbo the LFX (I believe that is why chevy made the exhaust ports diff)
and bring the power/torque right up between the SS and ZL1 say 500HP and then get the peddlerized parts.

I think we would or could have a bad a$$ Camaro.

Remember the Buick GNX

For the purist though don't call it a Z28 please they would go off the deep end.

The z28 is supposed to be the best road course racer. Back in 69 im sure many many folks were syaing "no way im buying that thing it shulda got a big block who the hell wants a wimpy 302"

As long as it performs well it will sale.

Exactly! They could one-up the BOSS 302 with a ~500 HP Turbo V6 setup for the road course.

It will be something to watch... and remember, the next gen will be smaller and lighter still... put that combo at ~500 HP and hang on!

I keep seeing guesses for the HP/TQ of the 3.0 L Twin, but so far I haven't seen anything official. Has anyone seen an update. Maybe the rumors they were going with a 3.6 L in the Lambdas is more than a rumor???

Not sure I'd like the the idea of a V6 Z28. I think a Z28 should have a high-tech N/A DOHC VVT V8 displacing 4.5L-5.3L that revs to at least 7000 RPM if not more.
What I'd love to see is a benchmark V6 model that is more than just a trim package. Have it be a formidable option to its V8 brethren and have it be the destroyer of the 370Z, G70 and the Genesis and even V6 Mustang. I'd still like to see the NA V6 up around 350 HP stock. I'd like to see the FI V6 sportin around 480-520RWHP with M3-Boxster- like handling and braking. That to me has more appeal than the SS or even the ZL-1.

The forced induction V-6 will be the Z-26 and the 5.3-V8 will be the Z28. The Z-26 will be turbo and the Z28 will be SC. Advertised HP will be very close but as usual the low end torque of the V8 with the added SC will be well above the V6. On the other hand the V6 will get much better fuel milage. Can't wait!
