HELP OTHERS GET A CAMARO
was just thinking, and let me know if this is a good idea or not, but theres roughly 20 thousand members on this forum and alot of us dont even have camaros yet, but are saving our asses off, which is hard through the holidays and these economic times, what if we were to do like a lottery where if only the members that wanted to donate like 1 dollar a month and then end of every month choose a member that could use the money to purchase his camaro if everyone did it thats almost 20,000 bucks, 1 dollar is not much for one person but when multiplied as many members as we got goes a long way. just a suggestion, how would it benefit and what kind of problems would we be looking at, just wanna hear your input.

Big issue I see is how would the mods guarantee that the money is actually being used for the Camaro and not something else.

put it in a mods paypal and they can choose and we will know if the person gets a camaro or not, we could even do, if you alre3ady own a camaro just paypal them 1 dollar and if your in need of the camaro add 2 bucks, not sure how to make it work but was just thinking, i know i can easily afford 1 dollar a month, benefits would include, more happy camaro owners out there, helping support chevy, making the forum stronger, i dont even know how many people would be up to it , it was just a thought, wasnt sure if it would cause good or caos

well maybe the mods could get with one of the dealers on here and work something out with them like to get confirmation the person is at the dealership then transfer money, or something like that

Kinda like an office pool...but if you'd get even 5% of the members to do it, that'd be a lot...doubt you'd even get close to that. Sure, 20,000 members...but how many visit the site even once a week?
Also...I think asking a mod to use his paypal account and be responsible for that $$ is asking alot. If it were to amount to a lot of $$, the issue of taxes comes into play. keep saving your pennies.

Practically as this would be voluntary only a fraction of the members per month would do this so it would take many, many months to get enough together for even one lottery winner to have a significant amount toward a Camaro.
Creative idea but not interested...

or people can even be buying something, on my last forum (srtforums) you could upgrade your membership like for 9.99 you would be a premium member and get special priveleges, or you could upgrade to a gold member for 19.99 which was the lifetime member, but i understand not everyone would be for donating 1 buck like avol2 said people need money for clothing and food, maybe a certain percentage every month could go to a voted charity, give the charity a little money help get the camaro 5 name out in the news. just suggestions nothing serious, lets hear more input

Remember that dude with the Del Sol that wanted us to fund his round-country trip with a new Camaro because it was a cool car? I see potential problems with this. Who is to say the winner doesn't already have one already and wants a second one? I think many details would have to be worked out first though I'm not opposed. Idea sounds great on paper but..

Sell 4000 raffle tickets at $10.00 each. That could buy the car and taxes. You would have 1 in 4000 chance of winning. Odds don't look too bad!! Actually I seen on tv where someone did this with a dream house and had to partner up with a charity to make it legit. So sell 5000 tickets and give $10000 to a charity.

Hmm... we all seem to be gainfully employed enough to purchase or even consider purchasing the Camaro, we don't need the money. Not only that what about those who have one already.
In the spirit of the holidays how about we do this pool but the Winner gets say a $50 Gift Certificate to a forum sponsor, and the rest of the money goes to the charity of the winner's choice as a donation from Camaro5.com I'm sure you would have a lot more interest in that, and the money would go to people who really need it, I think very fery few of us would qualify for that.
