High pitch whine under the hood

After I had 2nd gear replaced for the factory grinding issue, the car has been making this very high pitch whine under the hood. It sounds almost like the AIR pump that used to be on my TA but even high pitched. Any ideas of what could be making the noise so I can come armed with knowledge when I talk to the dealer about it.

Maybe they threw a supercharger in there when you got the 2nd gear replaced

Haha if only, but no stock intake is still on there.

Where abouts is it coming from? Front of the motor by the belt, or rear of the motor? Only while moving or just with the car running?

Passenger side. I couldn't really saw whether front or back. I only really hear it while idling since I can't be outside of the car otherwise and the exhaust is too loud to hear it from inside the car.

could be the intake leaking air and making the whine, or some honda boy is stuck under the car?

Go to the dealership and have your belts checked. Had a similar issue last summer: high pitched whistle at high RPM..almost sounded like a turbo whistle. Belts were replaced under warranty.

Now I have a whine from the AC belt that will have to wait until spring to.be fixed.

Good luck bud.

Has anyone else had this problem? Mine just started this last month. Right around 44K miles. It only does this when my AC is on, if the AC is off it does not make the whine.

AC belt. Problem with them is that they are pressed on, there is no adjustment or tensioner. Had the one in my 2010 coupe do that too.

Dano,

Apologies to hear about the noise you're experiencing. I'm sure that's truly displeasing for you and we're here to assist. Did you ever mention this concern to your local dealer? Have you considered taking it in for an official diagnosis?
