Non-GM empolyees eligible for employee discount?

Just wanted to see if anyone knew if the GM employee discount is available to non employess. GM ran a friends and family discount a while back in which employee pricing was extended to non-employees. Employee price on a 1SS is about $2300 under MSRP compared to supplier pricing at ~$1000 below MSRP. TIA!

if you are direct family member of a gm past or present employee. father-in law was employee we got gms...but dealer price does not match pricing i figured from work sheets on camaro5.he is higher of coarse

Actually the friends and family discount does work. If you know someone who works for GM and you drive a 'competitors' car, you can receive the discount.

I believe an employee can give out 3 authorization #'s per year with this deal. Someone may have more detail than this.

my dad worked there till he was forced retired at 32 years. But there are two different discounts. One is the employee discount which he can give to my self brother, etc. Then a family/friend discount which isnt as much as the employee discount. Its more than 3 a year. I think its like 3 or 4 a month

Check again, I know a GM employee who got an Auth # for a non-GM employee for that Friends Program. I believe you have to own a non GM Car to get the discount, for that one. And yes it was for the 2010 Camaro.
