Well, the last GT500 could not get into the 11's on the factory tire because of big traction issues with less hp and tq. I guess its got launch control this time but damn................I guess it will make it up on the big end.

Regardless, changing the tires to something stickier is no longer stock.
I think it looks great, I love the new tail lights. The only way the ZL1 has a chance is if this car launches like the previous models do. We shall see. Still prefer the ZL1 appearance wise, but this does look good. (Not in that Smurf blue though )

That's scary; they're really going for this if they're putting it over ZR1 (hp) territory! Although, I'm not sure how adding a hundred more horse and what looks like to be keeping the same tire size is going to be such a good idea.

I'm interested to see what size they went with. I have big problems with the 550HP I have now. Launch control will certainly help but I look forward to the matchup with the ZL1.

IN other news if that article is correct the ZL1 curb weight is being reported as 4120 lbs.
