has anybody considered a petition saying this fix is B.S. If they are going to do this, they need to do a quality fix. This is about as half-ass a fix they could do. They probalby doing it half-ass on purpose knowing nobody will want it and save GM money.

yea that is an ancient key with chip inside... my 2004's use that key.
With the reprogramming I bet all other key codes will be cleared from the memory so only the new ones will work. But the old ones if still available might be able to be reprogrammed in again. That is yet to be seen.

According to GM in the wake of their investigative findings, it has a higher probability of being kicked off by drivers who move their seat to a more full forward and up position. As in ,shorter people.

Using Hondas class action lawsuit as a precedent.. we can deduce that we, the participants, would only be getting a few cents upon settlement. And the suits working litigation will get millions in lawyer fees.. however, I'm for it..

Whew...good thing they are going to tell me to do this.

I would consider an option of spending money on my behalf to have a push button start installed by GM.

Go back in time, like the Saab. Have the key in the center console. Hit that with your knee....

Haha what a joke. I didn't expect GM to come up with an idea this bad. I would've at least thought they would be giving new remotes not rigging your old one on a $40,000 car.

What's really scary is when you consider how cheap GM went for this fix. What other fix did they cheap out on? This flimsy, dumb looking fix makes GM look like they shouldn't be selling cars at all.

Shame on you GM.
