SAVE THOR!
You all know that Thor is Fbod's steed right? The Rally Yellow horse of the 5th horseman of the Camaropocalypse?
Well..if you don't..YOU SHOULD! Fbod has done so much for this community, and the Camaro community as a whole; and I think it's time we said thanks in a big way. I think it's time we GAVE FBOD THAT CAR! FOR GOOD! Thor and Scott were one of the reasons why I went to Fort Ti back in early spring to check out the car. It was probably the first 2SS I had seen driven, sat in, and almost got to drive myself! I think that because of the graciousness that Scott Settlemire has shown us that we at least owe him this token.. Fbod, this one's for you buddy! *Link removed until further notice* Last edited by Zabo; 07-11-2009 at 11:15 AM. |

How much does he need? Would it be possible to make a counter to track amount collected so we could keep and eye on the goal.

It's a 2SS/RS 6Spd w/ Sunroof. So I'd say about 45K would cover tax title and all fees involved. So about 50-100 a piece ideally. But any bit will count, so don't feel obligated to donate that much! But hey, if you want to donate 500, by all means feel free.
We need to keep Thor and Fbod together! |

45? Is that canadian pricing? I would think he would get employee pricing and its not a brand new vehicle. I would be happy to donate if we could get some more facts.

Well I went back and built it online
Here's MSRP: $36,610.00 USD via Chevy Camaro site Tax and title will probably run him: $2746.00 USD via Edmunds auto loan calc. 2ss/RS w 6spd and Sunroof. Also threw in a color matched engine cover for him to pick up if he so wishes. From my memory I think it had one so that's why I added it into the price. You can crosscheck it on the chevy website. |

But seriously, this is for Fbod. I want him to also ask where I can deposit this once we start hitting the endpoint. Also note that Donation accounts cannot be accessed by the user until they buy a business account. I'm not going to do that until we've confirmed that it's reached the endpoint. I will also give my paypal passcode to Fbod and a third person designated by himself in order to make sure none of this money goes anywhere but to the fund to purchase the car for Scott Settlemire. I want to do this as honestly and safe as possible for all parties involved, so if you have any questions or concerns please voice them here or via PM if you so please. |

I thought all CPT cars were going to be destroyed eventually. By law.

Is he not rather high up at GM i doubt seriously he would have to pay full MSRP? I'm not trying to be a pain in the butt here but if we can maybe get fbod to give us some kind of total that we can aim for i would feel more comfortable.

I don't want to be sitting on this stuff in limbo and have it all go downhill in a charliefox. As for test cars, those are the pre-pro cars that had the camo on them. The CTF cars are production cars built for testing and can be resold after being retrofitted to meet production standards at time of sale. So Thor can be retrofitted as GM sees fit before it can be released to an auction block for sale as a used vehicle. Scott could then purchase the car before it goes to auction (or however that works) with our help, once I get the particulars squared away. |

I agree that Fbod has and continues to help this forum and all its members and is deserving of our thanks and appreciation. This is a great idea that I would be happy to donate to. First Scott needs to agree to this and secondly has to let us know what he can purchase Thor for from GM. Then we can move forward.

Agreed. So as OP of this thread I will say that I'm holding off (hence why I already removed the links but kept the donation site going) on really spooling this up until we get the word from Scott on how this can go down.
Here's for the best. Oh, and SAVE THOR! |
