Help to find the previous owner..

Hi People.
I need your opinion.
Maybe it is silly question but I just wanted to check whether or not that would be possible to find the previous owner for my 2012 Chevy SS 45th Edition. Of course if he is on the FORUM.
I think I can share a VIN # to initiate the search. Maybe post some photos..

What do you think?

P.S> this is not because I am going to harass the former owner by all means!
I just wanna know what mods he applied as I suspect he has done some..
As far as I can see he installed struts and mod. exhaust ..but no idea what else he might change..

Much appreciated for your inputs!

P.S. the car was bought from the dealer and they claim they have no idea on what was modified on the car.

Unless you get lucky you won't find out that information. They are not allowed to disclose that even if they do know.

Find a place that does VIN History Checks. You'll have to pay for the information, but it will give you previous owners.

Thank you man!
I agree..this is a question of luck (on which I have no complains so far )

Maybe you guys know the good shop in DFW area where I can take my car to check what mods have been done on it?

Thanks!

Thanks.

I have already checked those places..just a regular maintenance records, nothing more. It looks like the car had 2 owners but there is no any infor about particular owners details (they do not disclose any personal info).

Texas Speed & Performance is in Georgetown Texas. Thats a bit further than the DFW area, but its a reputable place. Locals will have to chime in on the other area shops.

In Kentucky, it is state law that dealers must provide previous owner's name and contact info if requested.

NOTICE: KENTUCKY LAW REQUIRES THAT, IF REQUESTED, WE SHALL FURNISH YOU WITH THE NAME, ADDRESS, AND TELEPHONE NUMBER, IF AVAILABLE, OF THE PREVIOUS CONSUMER-OWNER OF THIS VEHICLE.

I think it's pretty cool. I used this on a car I bought used and was able to get the key to the locking lug nuts.

OP, you may be able to find the original dealer that sold it (probably off a CarFax) and see if they will help you. I've done it before as a Manager at a dealership, I'd find out, call the person in question and see if they are ok with the new owner of their car contacting them and than pass the information along.

I traded in a 2012 45th it had full bolt one with exhaust. It was an slp loudmouth system with SLP headers. I traded it in in North Carolina while I was on vacation. I guess it's possible it made its way out there. I didn't do any suspension work. Car also had a CAI brand intake.

Was it sold by a Chevrolet dealership? My concern would be that the car would have had a tune that the dealership didn't check and that if you have a powertrain failure your pt warranty would be voided due to the tune.

I've gone through a similar process, trying to find a car for my (now-ex) wife that used to be in her family. I used one online service that showed a couple of owners after her, and with the help of a couple of friendly people online, and a forum, at least got close to finding the car. I'd say finding a previous owner shouldn't be a problem.
