Im an active member on CorvetteForum(have been for a long time) and you don t see any Ford lovers over there! I know i wouldn t join a Mustang Forum. I couldn t care less about a Mustang. Ill bet probably none of the Camaro owners on here are members on a Mustang forum either, unless they went from owning a Mustang to a Camaro. I ve owned several Ford Mustangs, and modded all of them. But i moved on to what i learned was best for me and haven t looked back. I guess the Mustang guys that are on here can t help it.....Maybe they ll learn something, like i did...? ........Its just a matter of time- imo
The best way to explain this is the fact the the moderation here creats a more mustang friendly atmosphere, than a camaro enthusiast one. I do know exactly what your saying as I am a member of more than a few other chevy specific forums, and I have never seen such a lopsided member ratio. You cant mention something beating a gt500 here without 30 posts using excuses as to why its better using a pully swap, a tune , or the crowd fav. driver error.

There are a lot of 4 door coupes that cost below $50k, have 540HP, and run low 12's at 117mph? You seem new to the muscle car game, try sitting back and learning a bit before you put your foot in your mouth.....
Omg thats sig worthy

Sorry guys I had to poke a little fun.

So..............

Wow now this is Irony.

The sad part is you are not even aware of it. Its quite obvious he mistype what he really wanted to say in the reply. Everyone who knows cars know there is nothing else that matches a GT500 power, price, and warranty for under 50k.

So by putting that mis-quote in your sig, your just broadcasting your LACK of knowledge of cars....for everyone to see. Irony at its best.

Yes, only the GT500 4 seat coupe has 540HP for under $50k (MSRP without all the goodies is ~$48k). Good catch. I wish my 4-door had more than 425HP .... but I need to wait to see if the SRT team has any more tricks up it's sleeve. There is a 392 mopar crate motor that needs to be moved out of inventory.....

My 2SS --> 34.2 + RS = 35.4 + TTL = 37K and change.... well below 40k...i passed on ground effects, wheels, and sunroof. i may even be able to get the cred union discount and/or the supplier discount. so yes it is possible.

I looked hard at buying a GT500, looked long and hard at the Challenger as well. For me it came down to budget. Now factor in the gas guzzler tax (1700.00 for both the Ford and Mopar) and insurance. It would of been a car I couldnt afford to drive daily and still get a 12 pack on the weekends. I have always been a GM guy. I own 4 GM's right now. 1969 Pontiac Firebird, 1988 Trans Am, 2003 Blazer and a 07 Grand Prix GT. The Mustang, well lets just say if I had been home and not in Afghanistan for the past year plus it would be in my driveway right now. I hate waiting.

I think the GG tax on the GT500 has been reduced to $500 for 2010. IMO, it's just a small, one time tax to not have to deal with things like skip shift and cylinder deactivation.

You dont need to even consider it when purchasing the Camaro. Still I dont trust tree huggers enough.. LOL

Thanks for the updated info, I was under the impression it was more. My bad for not doing the research.
