A little bit angry about my order status

I work with a dealer who is really great, if you just want to buy a car, and want no pressure and pure honesty.

However, they have no clue about the order process, or at least my salesman doesn't. I've been wanting to know the status of my car for awhile now, but my salesman promised me he would "keep me in the loop" if my status ever changed. So... I waited. Three weeks later, still no status changes, but, I didn't expect any, since I ordered so late.

However, he responded to my email I sent last night, and said that my order has been pulled for production. WONDERFUL!!!! But, what I don't know is, what status number I'm at, or if I have a TPW. He can't provide that to me for some reason.

I would like to have some clue, so I can procure my own financing, before the car arrives. I don't want to finance yet, so I don't risk whacking my credit too many times. I'm on the border of "Good" credit, so I don't want to hurt it anymore than I already have.

If a dealer out there somewhere, could please take a look at my order for me, and let me know where I'm at... please PM me.

Thank you.

PS...

This is me soon!!!!

Hum but if you put an order don't you need to have credit lined up first?

Or just toss the down payment and say "yea I got it?" without actually getting it pre approved? You should join a credit union. Read some of the threadz on it.

Open savings account, put 500+ bucks in it. Then apply for pre approval.

Pull your 3 N 1 credit score plus FICO first to look for errors.

Good Luck.

...........

I'm a member of Navy Federal Credit Union and Penfed. I know I can get approved... I just dont' want to keep having my credit whacked each time I want to get a pre-approval check.

Like, if I got pre-approved when I ordered the car, then got pre-approved now... and the car didnt' come in, I'd have to get pre-approved a 3rd time. That's 3 credit inquiries in a few month span.

Besides, thats not even what this thread is about :(

The pre approvals only take points off FICO if you get a rejection.

Because in the end it will only show one and will show a car and your payment & balance info.

Your probably in great shape. But lock in that good rate cause the economy is unstable and there is a high risk of inflation.

I was under the impression that credit inquiries also affected your credit rating?

I'm at the 690-710 range at the moment.

there can be multiple inquiries for a vehicle, but it will only reflect as a single hit. No worries about that.

Call your dealer and ask to speak with the person who puts the orders in (sales manager) and ask them to check it for you.

Just drive down to the dealer and ask them to print you a copy of you order from the GM Order Workbench. This will have all the information that you are looking for.

He doesn't know how. The "Allocation Manager" is only available on Tuesday, and it's a long drive from work for me.

you know I feel ya, but at the sametime, it comes when it comes. by knowing isnt going to help anything. But if you makes you feel better make your dealer give you a copy of the workbench

1. Credit inquiries do affect your score. But multiple in a certain period of time (I think its 30days) only count as one hit.

2. Talk to the general manager if the salesman is too dumb or doesn't have access and the allocation manager isn't available.

3. Any idiot can figure out how to get to the order status screen. If #2 doesn't work, go in there and ask him to log on and you can probably figure it out. I was able to teach my salesman a thing or two and I had never even seen the system before.

It won't go down when it's a pre approval. Unless it's a rejection.

Just stick to one bank don't shop banks and you score will not take any hit from the refresh if they even bother to do one.

I would worry so much! You'll have plenty of time to get the financing in order when it's shipped!

I'm at Navy federal also, with Fed Ex they can get you your check in two days. I've bought cars before and told them I would have the check in couple days and they just handed me the keys and said, see you then. Actually once, I was kind of mad because when I came back no one in the dealership seemed capable of taking my check, I sat around for over an hour!

Anyways, wait till your dealer gets an invoice or knows it shipped, you will be fine.

My problem is, I don't even know if they will notify me when this happens. I've asked multiple times for updates, and nix, nil.
