Rupes Results...
I finally upgraded from a Porter Cable to a Rupes after trying the Rupes at the Syracuse Nationals.
It operates so much more smoothly, and I was hoping that it would not hurt my wrists like the PC. Well, after 4 hours of polish-polish-wax, my wrists were happy and the result was fantastic. The smooth operation really seems to make it a more effective tool. I used Wolfgang Total Swirl Remover & Finishing Glaze on the paint, and Adam's Brilliant Glaze on the paint protection film. Pinnacle Liquid Souverän wax was used on all. Now the paint positively glows in the sun.

I've always hand polished. I think I'm going to skip the PC and go straight to the Rupes 21 or Flex 3401.

It's direct drive and will have a tendency to "walk" on you if the pad is not kept completely flat to the surface. The 21mm throw of the Rupes is great for fast correction, but is limited on pad size and really isn't made for the smaller areas of the car. The Griots Garage 6" has more power then the PC, also carries a lifetime warranty, and you can use a wide variety of backing plate sizes with it. If your just moving to machine polishing I'd recommend the Griots 6". While it won't correct as fast as the Flex or Rupes, it's very user friendly.

I use the FLEX for heavy correction, Normal polishing or waxing and sealants I use the PC.
Flex is pretty heavy to use for polish and lighter stuff. -bobby My Glow..  http://  [/IMG]
