45th AE Wheels are a pain to Clean!

Worst wheel I have ever had to clean. Those grooves between the spokes are a pain in the butt. I'm not up on the latest wheel cleaners, but is there one that is just a spray and rinse?

It's not really spray on and off, but Adam's Polishes makes a good product called Green Wheel Cleaner and using it coupled with their boars hair wheel brush works well for me.

That is definitely something that you need to have.

I seen this coming... Someone from GM was driving a 45th in Canada during the homecoming and thats the first thing I noticed was the brake dust stuck in the grooves... Gotta be a pain in the ass!

I have the same problem with the 21" wheels, they take me 2 or 3 times more time to clean than the regular 20" wheels.
I guess its the price you pay for beauty

I'm glad you posted this. Gives me something to think about then cause I was going to swap out my stock wheels for the 45th wheels since they were a bit more rare.

My wife had two 5 series BMWs. It took more time to clean the wheels than wash the entire car. Thankfully she rocks a Honda now.

Use Super Clean it's the best i have ever used, no wiping just spray and rinse. Will be safe on any type of wheel as long as you don't spray it on a hot wheel.

Funny, that was the first thing I thought of when I saw a 45th at my dealer, Rims would be a bitch to clean.

Do not use any of that cheap spray and rinse wheel cleaners, alot of them damage the clear coat on the wheels. Use a 50/50 mix of simple green and water, use a soft bristled toothbrush to get into the small corners. add a coat of polish/wax to the wheels just like the rest of the car.

Sounds like good advice. I have my 1LT wheels on it now for the winter.

buy P21S wheel cleaner and you will barely have to touch them at all. it sprays on and washes off approximately 75% of brake dust without scrubbing. i have a sponge for the remaining 25%. takes all of about 45 seconds to clean one rim completely.
