Denali XL is a trim line.

I personally love it. I did have low expectations for a 4 door Ute though, so it wouldn't be hard to impress me I guess. I like the detail around the tailgate.

That actually looks really cool. Like the headlights, rims, look. That'd be pretty cool to see on the road.

It looks way too much like a gigantic Honda.

I don't care for the looks, but the drivetrain has peaked my interest. 4.9 with DI and AFM, and E85 capable making 326 hp (unknown torque), and dual mode hybrid drive. 50% better mileage than a conventional setup. Probably costs 50% than a conventional setup too

I think it's officially called the Denali XT. The people over at Jalopnik have a well-documented fondness for cars with a truck bed (El Caminos, Rancheros, etc.) Since this is a GMC version of a Holden Ute, they're probably just being facetious calling it a Caballero, alluding to the El Camino rebadge of yesteryear.

I guess part of my immediate fondness for this is due to the fact that I was really hoping the G8 wagon would come over (which its not), and this is now the next-best thing.

I live outside of Boston, and I am just about to buy my first house, so I am looking for something that is still fun to drive (at least more-so than a truck) but can still haul loads of stuff to-and-from Home Depot and can handle our big-winters.

I'd LOVE to see one of these with an AWD package and the L76. That would be (nearly) my ideal daily driver... but I am also VERY keen to see how the G8 GXP comes out, because that is also pretty awesome (though big HP RWD is less than ideal).

I guess I am also just wicked impressed with GM. They have release one good concept after another for the past few YEARS! It's just really cool to see GM regaining their footing and doing cool stuff again... yeah it might not be for everyone, but its new, its cool, its cutting-edge... and thats just cool weather you like it or not.

Anyway, I still dig it.

I can't stand the trend of these gunslit windows. It makes it look like the car has been rolled over on the roof.

I feel the other way, I kinda like the tank-like appearance of those cars, so long as the streets dont get filled with them. I had alot more of a problem with the wedge body + bubble cabin look that was extremely popular a couple years ago. To each their own

I like the bunker-window styling from the outside, but I don't like how it reduces visibility. Good for style, bad for practical reasons.

I agree with LSXcellent. An AWD L76 version would be wicked awesome. That would make for a great family/home improvement vehicle. Also, 3,500 lb towing capacity allows for towing some smaller toys, like jet skis. If I had a family and a house of my own, I would definitely look into getting this.
