Burnouts in wet weather.

Just tried to do a little burnout in competition mode, my car definitely doesn't like it. Couldn't get the tires to break completely free. Car just hopped around. Am I doing something wrong? Does the car have all the way stopped with the gas pedal mashed to do a burnout? I feel like one of the cars safety systems is preventing the wheels to spin free even though competitive mode is supposed to turn everything off.

And don't worry this was in an empty parking lot.

You have to shut the nannies off traction control can't be on. Then it will light them up on dry pavement!

Will do. Maybe it's the moisture Messing things up. I just worry I'm doing damage to my tranny/rear end when the car hops around and bogs down. Makes me cringe. Don't want to abuse her but then again I realize these cars were made for this.

Install all the bolt ons you can and you won't have a problem breaking them loose! I have pretty much all your regular bolt ons and have 305's on the back and can be in 2nd gear at about 3.5k punch it and it will slide sideways!

In all seriousness you should be able to break them loose even without messing with anything if you get the rpm's up to about 4k and floor it. If you put it in comp mode it should light them up easily. Just make sure you have the rpm's above about 3.5k when you punch it! If your doing a burnout simply put it in comp mode, hold down the break and push the gas and bring the rpm's up to about 4k. Shouldn't have any problems doing a burnout even on a stock car.

Was in comp mode, had her at 7k RPMS, dumped clutch and she just bogged down and hopped around. This was rolling tho, maybe I have to be stopped

Mind you I'm talking about full on burnouts

7k might be a bit much and I can see it hopping doing that but i wouldn't think it would bog down it you dumped it at 7k and kept on the gas. Weird

From a stop try dumping it around 5.5k or so and i would think you'd be good.

7k rpm, what model Camaro are you driving? Assuming an SS, wet or dry just turn off the traction control button bring the rpm up to 3-4K and dump the clutch, to break them free and then feather the throttle as necessary.

What gear were you in? Assuming you were barely rolling and in 1st or even 2nd, you should have seen a very different result.

I take mine out sometimes at night and hoon around with it, and my rule of thumb so far is: When in doubt, hold down the traction control button for 7-8 seconds until the TC and Stability Control lights are illuminated.

At that point, the car is as close to having all of the computer controls turned off as you're going to get. It'll go sideways, do donuts, lay down nice burnouts...whatever. And even with no mods, the LT1 will make glorious noises and roast the tires.

7000 RPM clutch dump on wet pavement!? This has to be a joke or someone trolling.

No I'm not trolling, I'm still learning how to drive my car as I've never had a fast car before. Please refrain from posting in this thread if you have nothing positive to add. Thanks
