it sure seems like the ratio could be better... just sayin....

The best weight reduction is removing your friends and/or terrified girlfriend from the car.

I thought about this, I think the obvious would be switching out the seats. Sparco makes very light wieght seats, next would be Carbon fiber hood maybe. But the best and easy way to cut wieght is to buy light weight wheels, the stock wheels on the camaro are well over 30lbs!!!

Not much, nothing worth the money IMO. If you wanted to shred 200 lbs on the car it would be an empty cab, seat and steering wheel only. Removing back seats will make no noticeable difference and swapping out the hood for a carbon fiber is really expensive and also would make no noticeable difference. The ricers do it because they are dumb; hence the reason the cruze rice.

Well I would not go that far, the vette ZR-1 uses alot of cabon fiber aswell. I think the best place to loose weight and will be very noticable on the track will be to buy some light weight forged alluminum wheels with grippyer tires like Michellin Pilot sport PS2s

Here's a good one. The Camaro has a 19 gallon fuel tank. If you run with 5 gallons in the tank instead of full, that saves about 8 pounds per gallon X 14 gallons.

That's 112 pounds.

Way better than taking your seat out which was discussed in an ealier thread and not supported.

No, not really. In short my point was if you are worried about weight forget the 4 seater Camaro and get a lighter 2 seat Vette with the same engine and a lot less weight.

Coulnd't agree more. If you're worried about weight and are willing to take out the back seat, why even consider the camaro when used C5 ZO6's can be had for less than the 1SS MSRP.
