Z28 CAI Install With Pictures!

Decided to tackle this install this morning. Very simple to do especially if you have installed CAI's before. This one is no different. Follow along as I install it. Thanks for looking and I hope this helps someone out.

The Stock Look:

Removed the stock tube:

Remove these nuts on stock airbox:

Unplug MAF Sensor:

Take care and pick up on stock airbox and set out of way. Sorry I didn't get a picture without any airbox installed.

Istall foam rubber strips on bottom of Z28 airbox on each side of plastic stem that sticks out.

That plastic stud or stem whatever you want to call it must go into this hole in center of this picture.

Press Z28 airbox into place and re-install the two nuts you took off the stock airbox:

Press on the hood seal:

Route your pvc line, I went under the throttle body and over to the air tube:

Line up the installation notches on Z28 airtube and put in place. Tighten bands.

Trim off extra hose and attach to tube with supplied compression clamps and re-install MAF Sensor wiring clip:

Looks good.

Seems so much bigger in these pics then I remember seeing on the Z/28's in the showroom.

How's the car drive with the new CAI?

Drives great! It already sounded awesome once rpms were up to 4000-4500. Pulls you into the seat and growls like a beast! Don't know how else to describe it. Deffinately worth it IMHO.

Thank you! Its what sold me on the purchase! Was going with Airaid but with them selling out to K&N and them putting their name right on intake tube where you would see it as soon as you opened the hood. Like they were saying " look here " AIRAID!!!!!!!. Idk, just didn't set right with me.

Jegs shipped mine yesterday! I will be installing the Z28 on my Auto. I am a little anxious as it says it is not recommended for the L99.
