The SS sucks for rock chips on the quarter panels it's only logical (not calling anyone stupid here, just want to clarify that) that a Car with the same body with wheels that stick out of the front fenders and rear quarter panels will get more damage then if the wheels are inside the

A.K.A. The ZL1 logically will be worse for rock chips than the already horrendous well known chipping of the LS, LT, and SS Models. Get a Clear Bra, replace it every 5 years or as soon as it starts to yellow (some of them won't), and most of the same issues with body damage on the 2010-2012 LS, LT, and SS will replicated themselves on the it's only common sense.

And like Dragoneye said "Welcome to the World of Sticky Tires" and as ffrcobra said the same thing happens with the GT500 (rocks picking up tires).

Is 7-10 mph slow enough? That's what I do when I drive on the road to my house... The road is only like an 8th of a mile

Clear bra & tint going on next week. Never buy house on gravel or dirt road.

Just like any other material that's exposed to the elements it can certainly weather and 'yellow' if you don't take care of it properly. Keeping it out of the sun and elements when not being driven and keeping it waxed or polished will help as well. Just about every exotic car owner puts clear bras on their cars and even full wraps to protect their valuable paint. So I guess take your pick...get rock chips or install a clear bra. If you have to replace it every 5 years, which you wont have to when properly cared for, it's still worth the investment compared to repainting or repairing rock chips every year.

Drake... I have the exact situation you have. A good 1/8 to 1/4 mile of gravel. It sounds terrible and I go about 8 mph. I don't want the dust to catch up to me and I have to beware of cars coming the other way too! Quite the pain, but that's what keeps my heritage private too! Ahhhhh... But I have a local car wash machine (you know, quarters and a spray gun?) in the event I need to dust her off! Once I hit pavement, I go slow until no more sound of rocks is coming from the tires. Has worked good so far.

Hey guys, don't have a gen 5 yet, ZL1 is on its way. Does anyone have a picture / photoshop of where on the on the rear quarter the clear protection goes? I know it's in the gill area but should it extend an inch or five inches from the gills ? Thanks
