0-60 Times 7.68 and 7.26

Very unhappy with performance. Looks are great but I am regretting getting the auto. GM said it was just as QUICK as the stick. You see I do not care to do 100+ Quarter Miles since that is speeding. I want to get to the speed limit quick and 0-60 in 7+ seconds is not the -5 seconds promised by GM.

VIN 12630
585 miles so far and I'm planning to change the oil within the next 200 miles or so
I haven't tried to time it yet but it's performing excellently. After a late night, empty street encounter with a Dodge Magnum and a Mustang GT, they would agree (moment of weakness with the new car, I usually don't street race at all). I'm trying to find time to get to the track and see what it can do once I change the oil.

Fbodfather mentioned these reasons why the L99 is slow to some..........

First -- it has torque management -- but it's important to understand that the computer 'learns' as you drive it......

Once the engine breaks in (1 to 2 thousand miles is initial breakin -- ) you can start 'getting on it' -- and the computer will "learn from that point on" --

By 5,000 miles, this car is gonna perform! Big Time.

Now -- you say: well - why didn't the 4th gens do this? Answer: Active Fuel Management........that brings a whole new dimension into play...and thus the need to 'learn'.......

Scott if you wanted instant HP from the box then you should have got a manual. However I bet when the car reaches its peak 5000miles it will be there. good luck

That line of thinking makes perfect sense except for that fact that others with the L99 have good power from the when they first get the car. My L99 has 900 miles, No oil change, Vin # 9981, its red so it automatically is a .1-.2 secs faster and I chirp on take off with TC off in sport mode. I am running what seems like about 5-6 sec 0-60 but I havent put a clock to it. It is much faster than the videos yall have put up. SOTPD tells me it has some punch.

have been e-mailing a tuner in my area, he has gotten 20 HP and 25 ft/lb torque with LS3, he believes L99 has more potential, also believes more MPG with tune, he says I need more break-in miles before I try, so except for potential voiding of warrenty issue if you could get 20+ HP and more torque, is it worth trying? Would be done on dyno so I have before and after, and he would retune as I add CAI, shorty headers and cat back.

It sounds as though there are less than a half dozen L99 owners with slugs...a low number, but still unacceptable. I hope you guys find a postive resolution...I know I would be pissed.

Interesting. Last night I did a timed run on the road leading home from the office. (or I guess I should say this morning) using the Dynolicious on my iPhone. Calibrated, mounted tight, and ran. I know it's not the most accurate instrument but I'm told it's fairly close.

That being said, I don't know what to think of this run. I only went to like 85 or 86 MPH before I backed off so it wasn't a quarter mile. I set the vehicle weight about 200 lbs too light because I didn't account for me in the car and I only put 3800 lbs. and I know it's a little more than that. So anyway had I added the correct weight, the horse power would read a little higher.

Straight, flat road. 3:30 in the morning so nice and cool (for Bama) and I reved to about 2000 rpm before letting off the break and getting on the gas.

Anyway, check it out. I can't wait to try it again.

I haven't driven my car much yet but I was driving a 2004 Mustang Cobra with 480hp, there is a big difference, yes, but when I put it in Competitive Mode I notice a marked difference from just the regular mode.

I'm not one to "break" my cars in slowly, I like to drive them from the start the way they will be driven, won't be going down the track anytime soon but I'm not being easy in it either.

I will try to get my 0-60 MPH time soon.

I'm sorry you guys are having trouble, I know it is very dissapointing.

Keep us updated, maybe we all can gain something from what you guys learn.

Nice run! The 0-60 time is right in there! Looks like the car is learning how to behave!

Finally Randy !!! I am not trying to rag on you guys, but getting factual data makes all the difference in the world. Glad you have that. Now you can work on making things faster...

Congrats dude !!
