World's First Road Test: The 350 hp V6 Genesis Coupe

http://www.insideline.com/hyundai/ge...full-test.html

That trap speed may tell that the number is overhyped though. Then again this is Insideline we are talking, and the test car had no miles on it..... But 300 lb-ft for a N/A 3.8 V6 is ridiculously good, if that number is true.

13.6 second Hyundai... Awesome!

Seems like it would have been a bigger player performance wise back in the early 2000s when it wouldve been equal or better than several American pony cars.

Still quite respectable.

Very respectable performance numbers.
Not impressed with the new exterior tweaks and front end.

don't care about the specs, its still a Hyundai. If ran the 1/4 in 12.0, it would still be a Hyundai. They make fine disposable cars, but please.

MT just did a track test with the 3.8 Genesis with the 3.73 rear end. Staight line performance is good, but they seemed to not be overly enthused with the handling.

5.2 0-60 and 13.9 1/4 mile (1/4 mile time seems kinda slow really)

The car is probably capable of better than that for sure....at 3,500ish lbs and low gearing its no wonder its quick off the line. I'd love to see what an otherwise stock Mustang or Camaro V6 does in the 1/4 with lower gearing

Also have to keep in mind the 348hp was tested using premium fuel. I'm willing to bet if they did an SAE test with the Camaro V6 using premium its numbers would jump at least 5 to 10 hp as well as this has been shown in dyno testing on the LLT. LFX is probably the same.

Should be a good indication of what the next gen Camaro V6 on the Alpha platform should be capable of assuming it weighs in the 3,400 - 3,500 lb range. Low 5 seconds to 60 and mid to upper 13s in the 1/4. Using the kind of mods we now have for the LLT, it will be a high 4 second to 60 car and easy low 13s in the 1/4 mile. I can't wait.

Genesis is an awesome car.....were turbo charging them and just finished the first RX Super Chiller on the I-4 turbo. The Tiburon was a super flop piece of junk, but the Genesis is a hit IMHO.

Sure bud.

The frame on a 93-02 Hyundai will have rotted out by now, unless the car is garage kept, and never sees rain. But there are a bunch of low rot 4th gens, even in the Northeast.

Hyundai makes trash. I have no respect for that company. I work on those damn things all the time.
