I switched to Royal Purple for my motor, tranny, and rear end. Works great. Also, you need Royal Purple Synchromax for the transmission since you have the 6M tranny on your SS. It takes just over 4 Qts.

Nice!!
I just got all my dimple magnetic plugs in the mail earlier today!!
I also got super black hole magnets for the oil filter.
I'll be doing all 3, tran, rear and oil very soon..
I've always used Mobil 1 but almost positive
I'm changing over to all Valvoline synthetic!!
The stuff is quit impressive!!

One of the best investment you can make.
I no longer have any grinding when shifting gears.
Less than 30 min ? You must have a lift. It takes the average human that long to jack up and install jackstands. When refiling with Redline the only way I coud get the fluid in was to snake a plastic tube down from the engine bay. That worked pretty good.

I would have skipped the Lucas myself as well. Glad this is all fairly easy to do.

If you want to learn about what Lucas Stabilizer does (or does not do) go over to bob is the oil guy and do a search. Why does my oil need to be stabilized?

the one complaint people have with RP is it can burn off easier than some others. Lucas/RP mix works amazing. gives the oil a little more substance. and keeps it from burning off.

If you're burning off transmission fluid, you have got problems!

Yea Lucas not needed in these car.. maybe if it was a ten year old jalopy that would be a different story.... but just some good full synthetic for all the fluids is all you need... plain and simple!!!

I am a big fan of using what the OEM used in the factory at build time and what they state in the owner's manual.

After first oil change at 2000 miles, I added aftermarket magnetic drain plug, also wrapping oil filter with a rare earth magnet, (per another link here somewhere). Changed oil last month at 12months and 4500 miles later, plug had NO metal particles at all. We took off the filter very carefully and then yanked the magnet off and carefully turned the filter over and screened it through a coffee filter. No metal particles either. But I did put the magnets back ha, hey, they are paid for. Wal Mart had Mobil 1 extended 15k for the same price as regular Mobil 1 so I used the extended, but won't let it go 15k, as that would be two years for me and the oil filter is just a Napa Gold or Wix. I sure wouldn't do the Lucas additive, that is messing with the other oil. Could negate any oil warranty, like they would pay that out, but still.

As for the rear diff, it does have a magnetized drain plug and unless racing, it is also all synthetic and you want the gears to wear in good. May change it at 30k miles, maybe not .

As for the Tranny, I have the automatic, and it is basically almost a sealed system, can't even check the proper level with a dipstick anymore. But it is guaranteed for 5/100k, so maybe at 50k I would change it again. Only beating I do on that is with the paddle gears, but that probably beats on the engine with high revving more than the tranny.

I got mine done at the dealership. $160.00 for labor and $45.00 for fluid...total $205.00

Keep in mind dealerships charge crazy for labor IMHO...but something like tranny fluid done so few and far in-between...it is usually worth it to know it was done correctly.
