To the op. For the average person springs are all you will need. I put 1.2/1.4 bmr springs on my car and couldn't be happier for the cost. If you have the cash coilovers are without a doubt better but if your on a budget go with springs. And don't forget to order from chase at apex!

We ran the stock shocks on the blue car in the picture above for almost 5 years before we installed the new DSE coilover kit in them this past spring. The stock shocks were still holding up fine at that point however the coilover shocks and springs are the way to go.
