Ehh... who know's. GM is really emphasizing the break in period.... Maybe there is really something to it with this configuration of parts. I think there is something off about their numbers but I will reserve judgement until more ZL1's are put through the ringer.

I'm seriously wondering about that drop at 4500 rpm. I'm wondering if there's some coding in the ecm that does that until 1500 miles. that would help GM ensure some following of the break in period. but that's just extra coding that would still be there after the break in period that would need to be by passed.

I do like how I just googled the 11/12 GT500 and came up with the same times the auto zl1 pulled from HPE. but I'm sure that won't shut the nay sayers up.

I have given up in that section.... as I said over there, Haters gonna hate. No matter what we say or how right we are we will always be wrong to them. I am just going to stick to the threads with good people from now on.

I try not to get involved in that section since I have no first hand knowledge. However, I will say that some people are completely unreasonable with what they want over there. Buuuuut... there does seem to be some issues. Your top still holding up?

I think that there is an issue. but most are being unreasonable about things.

currently the wife says my top has been fine. she's been driving it and putting the top down while I've been gone. still got a few weeks before I go home and get to see for myself.

I'm hoping the smell from the tranny has disappeared. smelled like the clutch was burning sometimes when backing out or pulling out at a light. but it wasn't every time either. that's the only problem I've had. and I wouldn't call it a problem. if I have to I'll find a light weight flywheel and clutch combo to swap it out with.

Is it that "new clutch smell" or something different? Seems like every time I purchased a new manual it has a burnt smell at first... maybe I just suck at shifting.

Killed the car.... sounds like operator error smell.

Here is hoping you have a clutch when you get back!
