Brake Confusion
Ok, so are the bolts to hold the caliper to the mounting bracket or the bolts to hold the mounting bracket to the car the torque to yield bolts?

The ones that hold the caliper to the mounting bracket (they have the slide?)

Im not sure, I am seeing more that if you remove the caliper and mounting bracket to change rotors, you should replace the mounting bracket bolts. Not the ones that hold the caliper. It is a very confusing issue. No one seems to really know. And of course you search on here and every topic but what you are looking for comes up!

I have a service manual.
It shows both the caliper bolts, and the V6 caliper bracket bolts at TTY - one time use. On the SS Brembos there is no bracket, as Brembos are mounted to the knuckle. So...changing the rotors on an SS you would only need - caliper bolts. Changing rotors on a non-SS you would need both caliper and bracket bolts. ....and all the bolts are 30 lb ft + 90 degrees. The V6 caliper to bracket bolts and the V8 Brembo caliper to knuckle bolts are both single use bolts.

I thought my bracket bolts looked fine, the caliper bolts did look stretched. But I guess it would be cheap insurance to also just swap out the bracket bolts too.
Do we know if they just make standard non-TTY replacements?

Wow.
I had no idea some of those bolts were TTY. So when I replaced the rotors on my SS, I should have changed the caliper bolts?

Some people re-use (it's been discussed many times when talking about Brembo upgrades) but yeah they're all TTY and should be changed, best practices and all that. On a safety component like brakes, it's cheap insurance to replace them.
