auto to manual transmission switch

Was wondering if anyone has switched a 4th gen camaro's automatic transmission into a manual transmission. New floor holes will have to be drilled but will other things besides the tranny need to be switched. If anyone has done this or has any advice on the subject it would be greatly appreciated.

Do some searching on ls1tech.com, its been done plenty of times, IIRC there is even a writeup there on how to do it. Mine is actually a m6 swap.

You do need to drill holes in the floor board for the clutch master cylinder. The good thing is, all the floors were stamped with a template for the m/c, and they just didn't drill them out for the auto cars, so you should already have a template built into your car where you need to drill.

Besides that you will have to get your PCM retuned for a manual, and I'd recommend at least wiring in a clutch ignition lockout switch. You would also need to wire in cruise control and reverse lockout if you wanted to use those features.

Besides that, its all swapping parts. You're gonna need a flywheel, clutch kit, get some 01-02 hydraulics, trans crossmemeber, a t56, shifter, set of manual pedals, and a center console from a manual car.
