I found these in my trunk today.

When I was installing my Phastek Sequential turn signal harness I found these two small rubber caps or bumpers laying in the floor of my trunk. has anyone seen anything like this in their car and where are they supposed to go? They are a 1/2" in diameter and 1/4' tall.

They're supposed to go on the framastat to protect it from rubbing against the wachamacallit.

I think.

Shoot I thought they might have been off the Doo-dad to protect the Thing-a-ma-jig.

but seriously, I am wondering where they came from.

I just went and looked in my trunk..... and I got nothing. They look like a bump stop to something. The one on the right in your pic has a knick in it.
Did they come from the packing in your harness!?!? just guessing..

They look like the rubber bumpers that are on either side of the trunk opening to cushion the trunk lid when it closes.

Extras?

Nope, I opened the packing in the house. They were laying in the groove where the spare tire carrier touches the rear panel.

I compared them and these are a little smaller.

Ok, so I went back out to look. Exactly where you say you found them. Still nothing. I even pulled up the spare tire cover, just to look.. you never know.
Maybe it's one of those things that's been like that since day one, you just never noticed them??? Left over from the factory...? I know it's bugging the crap out of ya.....

Yeah probably been rolling around back there since I got it. It almost looks like they were cut off of something. I know they did the top TSB before I got it. Maybe something left over from that?

I bet that's all it is. While I was just looking in the spare tire spot, I found a cut zip tie, lol. I know ours has had all the 'repairs, TSB' done on the top before we bought it. No telling what we would find if we really looked, lol.

check inside the trunk lid, where the spoiler (if equipped) bolts down to trunk lid. I think you may have some rubber caps there. If not then they are probably extra goodies from factory..

You may be right. Maybe where the trunk bumpers were molded. I am keeping them in my junk parts box. You never know when an odd part like that could come in handy for a home made project.
