Door Ding

So, April 25th I got my first door ding on my car. Thankfully I was sitting in the car and caught the guy. His door hit my car so hard, I thought a car had driven into me. Took it into the PDR people and they said they couldn't get it back 100% and I knew I wasn't going to be happy with that. So...had the dealer look at it today and got a quote of $1073.10 to repair it.

Called my insurance company, gave them all the information and by 3:00 this afternoon, it was authorized for repair! The other fellows insurance is paying for the whole thing!

After May 17th, it will look like new again! Pics aren't the greatest. Taken with iPhone4.

Try a couple of shops. I had a rather sharp encounter with a pine cone that left a nasty dent.
A mobile PDR guy tried, but couldn't do much. I happened to luck into a shop with better skills and that guy made the dent almost completely disappear.

Believe it or not, it was a 2001 Mazda Protege! I was shocked when I saw the damage too. I had to take a double look at his car!

I was very lucky that I was sitting in my car. He actually started to walk away, then realized he wasn't going anywhere!

They have to go so far as to remove the rear bumper and the 1/4 window to repair it properly. They said 3-4 days for this

Yeah, I talked to 3 places and each one cringed when they saw where the damage was. One place even said the paint may crack when the try pushing the dent out.

Yes, you can say that again! At least it is getting repaired. When my adjuster phoned me back this afternoon and said it was approved already, I thought she was putting me on! I asked her if it was a joke and she said the guy was not even trying to deny it. She told the appraiser at Southgate that it is a go for repair.

4 days without my car, but I wouldn't have been driving it anyway. I work all that week 12-10pm. There will just be an empty space in my garage. Might be time to spring clean in there!

Wow, that's almost a crease too! Nasty, well good side is you were there and able to get it fixed right away. I just shudder when I see these....I have the habit of checking my car every time I get in to leave a parking lot.
