Onstar offering unlimited minutes

I called yesterday to renew my yearly subscription and was informed that Onstar now offers unlimited monthly minutes for just $10 a month including long distnace. That's great considering at one point they tried to offer 300 minutes for almost $300. I guess enough ppl complained or didn't opt for it until they were forced to change. Maybe enough customers, me included, complained that at one point you could get an additional phone line added to your Chevy vehicle through Verizon for just $10 a month. Whatever the reason that's good that they made the minutes much more affordable.

I am assuming you have to keep the onstar to make it work also?

Hey buddy how's it going! No I don't have bluetooth which is why I'm considering the unlimited minutes for $10. If I find I'm not using the minutes that often then I can just cancel the service.

Hey that is awesome. I really wanna keep my service that expires next month but only if they offer me a lower price of the 18 sumn plan. I ran out of my minutes a while back and was thinking of buying more minutes when i renewed but now i will try to get them bot. If i can get both for 25.00 or less then we got ourselfs a deal. Still debating if i should call now or closer to my exp Date.

does anyone actually use the onstar provided phone line to talk ? seems very redundant to me, if i have my phone in my pocket whats the point of paying for a car phone line? and dont tell me for the rare chance my phone is dead or i misplaced it. not gonna happen.

This may help you: they are offering $50 off until April 1st for renewals. My directions and connection plan is normally $299 but I just renewed it for $249. If you decide to do it, jump on it while they're offering $50 off.

For me, I live in MD and work in DC and it's illegal to use your phone while driving unless you have a handsfree set which I don't because I have a pretty basic phone. But as I said before, if I find that I'm not really utilizing the service I'll just discontinue it.

If only the Camaro could fit in my pocket, then I'd get the minutes. Lifestyles vary, but I can't imagine making that many phone calls while I'm driving.

It seems like it would be worth a phone uprade for you to get a basic cell phone with Bluetooth on it rather than dish out $10 a month on top of keeping the onstar service. Im not sure if u need to keep your OS servive or not of the car's minutes to work as well, but in any case, just get a basic phone with bluetooth and use that rather than paying for minutes on the car.

P.S. Its only illegal if you get caught.... jk lol

You're right that is an option that I should considered. In any event I haven't committed to anything yet.

Oh and I have gotten caught....didn't get ticketed fortunately but twice I got a nasty "YOU NEED TO GET OFF OF YOUR PHONE NOW!!!" Both times in DC and as a matter of fact DC was the ones that ticketed me for my tint. I live in MD and have had no problems from MDPD.
