Car problems. Faulty ECM

Hey guys,
I dont know if this is happening to some of your cars, but the knock sensor check engine light is affecting my car. Chevy has to replace my computer (ECM) in my car and they are having trouble. They were sent two faulty computers. Car been in the dealership for a week trying to get this crap fixed.

The car dynos 100hp less than it should in some areas.

So if you feel like your car is slow and getting a check engine light, then you might need to get your computer replaced.

I feel your pain, son's 2SS hasn't been delivered yet because they had to replace:

Drivers Air Bag
Instrument Cluster

We are hoping the IC arrives tomorrow so he can take delivery.

Good luck

Well just because it says check engine does not mean it's the ecm. That means an error code has been generated. You can pull the codes with ODBII reader.

At some point there will probably be a list here of the codes. Whoever has service manual hint hint.

If 2 ecm's fry then there could be a short somewhere else in the harness or main cables or a junction defect.

Give us a little info. - Is it a program issue in the ECM? That really blows.

It is doubtful that they sent you two ecms that had the same problem as yours.

Unlikely that the ecm is faulty, much less three of them in a row. Probably something else, might take it to a different dealer.

Ask them what codes it is showing

The code is saying its a faulty ECM (please replace), we hooked up on the reader and thats what it says on mine and at the dealers, they ordered different computers and they cant get it reprogrammed. They are having trouble. When they put the new computer in they are getting a ram code. Its not frying the computer.

My car is a 1SS vin#5363 manual 6speed

Brand new car and already seemingly so many issues. Not good for GM. Not good at all.

brand new car meaning first model year bugs which all new car models have. Not every car will have problems, but a larger amount than usual will. That's why I'm waiting a year or two.

How many problems has there been? I mean seriously. A few odd ball things here and there are expected from a first model year. These people knew it was the first model year and jumped right in.

It does suck that its saying the ECM is bad but I HIGHLY doubt that three of them will be bad in a row. If so, then something is wrong with the car.

Send a personal Email to " the Mole " tell him your issue and who he can put you in contact with. He works for the plant and maybe able to direct you the right direction. Sounds like a program issue two ECM's gone faulty sounds like someone is not doing something correctly or unfamilar. Hope this helps and good luck.

Hadn't you posted elsewhere that you were going to mod the engine?
Did you already? If so, why blame GM...

If I have you confused.... disregard...
