Adding a Clutch Reservoir to Isolate it from Brake System

Here's some pics of the new clutch reservoir I installed on my Camaro.
Total cost of parts was aprox. $35.00. It took me about an hour, the most time was spent fabricating an aluminum bracket to hold the reservoir. I got the reservoir from the local Yamaha Motorcycle shop. I saw one on the handlebars of a new crotch rocket. The hose fitting on the clutch res. is the right size for the hose coming off the brake reservoir. And the hose is exactly the right length. Then I just put a cap and clamp on the nipple coming out of the brake reservoir.

If anyone wants the Yamaha part #'s for doing this, let me know.

This makes it very easy to change out your clutch fluid and it keeps clutch
dust from contaminating your expensive brake system, preventing very
costly repairs in the future. I am now using Motul RBF 600 Dot 4
fluid in the brake and the clutch system instead of the factory Dot 3 fluid.
The Motul has a lot higher wet boiling point so the brakes work much better on the track.

Nice to see that members have good Common Sense, But you can do it with all gm parts like i did, And you did not need to fabricate an aluminum bracket, Go to post 13 on this thread.

Well, before I found the reservoir from Yamaha, I called Chevy and Dodge dealers in the Denver area and they all told me the same thing....That the clutch systems are all sold as sealed units (reservoir, mastercylinder, and slave cylinder with fluid already in them) They couldn't get just a reservoir separately. I even checked with NAPA and they said the same thing. If I had known about the Holden part I would have gone that way.
All I know is that I really wanted to separate the clutch system, It was always a problem on my C6 Corvette and I sure didn't want to contaminate
my brake system with all that clutch dust.
