Need Cam Advice

So I just had my '14 1le tuned on Monday. Right now I have LT headers and Rotofab intake. I put down 417/411 which I was happy with. I am moving on to the next step which will be a cam package. I called cam motion directly first and explained to them what I wanted which is drivability with a noticeable powergain. They spec'd out the following cam for me:

Lift intake = .595". Exhaust = .578".

Duration 214/220.

Lobe separation 116 with intake center line at 112.

Wondering if anyone has got something similar or has any thoughts. Seems pretty mild to me.

did they say what the expected power gain would be? does seem small though.

almost the same cam that kip made for me. my car is an l99. i also wanted good driveability and smooth idle. also i did not want to swap out the the factory converter. my specs are 212/220 588/579 116 lobe separation. pulls strong from idle to 6200.

They said I should see a noticeable gain without being too radical.

Ended up asking for another spec and I think I like this one a little more.

Lift intake = .595". Exhaust = .578".

Duration at .050" = 222/228.

Lobe separation 115 with intake center line at 111.

I got a cam motion Night Fury cam from Lethal racing. Its awesome. Makes great power on LS3's.

I have an auto, but driveability is no problem at all. Does have a very lopey idle, but that's one of the things I love about it.

I don't see a point in a small cam, if youre going to do all that work, don't do it for 30 hp or something, you will want more later.

Ask around about night fury driveability, its not bad. Not necessarily for the NF but a similar spec'd cam too with a decent amount of lift.

OP, here's another 1LE build that's more track oriented, yet very drivable;

http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=401078

Given the OP's conservative goals, that grind for the OP appears to be a conservative cam.

After talking with Kip at Cam Motion, I wanted my Camaro to be drivable to take on local drives and long distance trips. But, I also wanted the ability to smoke 392 Hemis and pesky Mustangs.

When it was all said and done, this is the grind he built for me was a 3-bold LLSR cam to match up with the Frankenstein heads;

234/.637" - 244/.620" - 114 +4

After talking with Brian at Circle D, he thought that a triple disc 3600 stall would be appropriate for the 6l80e transmission, more so considering a phase 2 build of a 416 stroker.

I can only stress that the OP spend time with his engine builder and cam grinder in order to have a specific cam ground as part of a total package.

This is a thread in which Kip from Cam Motion writes about his personal ride, there are some top tier builders on these two links;

Thanks for the responses guys. I am stuck between the cam I listed above and a btr stage 2 or 3. I think the stage 2 is a 225/238 .612 .585 Lsa 113+3. Something tells me just get the stage 2 and be done but I don't want to leave anything on the table if I find out that drivability won't be affected too much.
