^Now that's very intresting since the import dealer I'm intrested in buying from has LOADS of brand new Chevys that aren't for sale here in Europe regurarly. Lots of Avalanches, Silverados, and so on. They got the new Malibu Hybrid before ANYONE in Sweden, brand new. Not to mention that they also import Mustangs and Challengers, both brand new. And this is a dealer who has a GM certified repair and service shop for Corvettes, Cadillacs and other GM models.
Just think it's kinda odd that they have all that and you say GM doesn't allow exporting of new vehicles. Unless you mean that it's not technically allowed and they do it anyway.

It is against our franchise agreement to sell any new GM car for export. I can not help anyone with that. If I smell and export deal you can be sure you are paying tax and tags before you get the MSO.

Hi!
European here aswell and I've gathered some info about importing the Camaro (almost a year ago ) 1) GM has officially stated that Camaro5 will be oficially available from 17k euros for V6 and 23k euros for SS. Now I only got this news in polish from here http://www.autokrata.pl/lod/4920/camaro_od_17_tys_euro/ (in polish only, sorry) and can't find ATM confirmation from any english-language site (and german sites are all about importing from US with insane prices like 37k euros for 1LT...) 2) GM dealers are forbidden to sell Camaros overseas, so you'd have to find "your man" that'll buy the car "for himself" and then ship it to Europe. That is, if you can't / don't want to wait for the car to be oficially available on our side of the ocean. 3) Some numbers and thoughts concerning importing Camaro into Europe: http://camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3297&page=3 The import taxes vary between countries. A lot of them are imported through Germany. There's a recent trend to import cars from the US through Lithuania (pretty low VAT and registration costs, possibly also lots of "tolerant" workshops that can sign your car Europe-ready without the costly lights changing)

Any lights are okay (check out what recent Audis and BMWs have -- the latter ones especially, halos in its purest) as long as they "point" in appropiate angles.

sebicorv, i think TVA tax (in spain 16%) aply to car+overseas, and yes, you need to pay regulation (1000 in spain) and in spain we have a "plate" tax that is 14,95% (is this amount cause the co2 emission is high) they gave me a final price of 37k 2LT+RS 6k more than if you do it be your self.
Tomash, from 17k euros for V6 and 23k, its the same price OR cheaper that the price in canada...this is imposible to have this price here (i think this web just made a convertion of the us/canada price) and the only problem i see with the lights (camaro have side markers light=no need to change it) are the four reds lights of the tail, 2 have to be yellow |

^The last bit depends of the country. I know for a fact they don't need to be that here in Sweden.
