Help with audio.. upgrades?

Let me say that I am happy with the stock premium BA system and have less audio knowledge than an 8yo boy. I thought at first the rears were too quiet but then I moved the speaker balance to the rear by two.

My main concern is playing songs through blutooth on my phone is bunk. Is there any way to upgrade the blutooth audio? Is it related to it saying "front speaker aux" when selecting?

Second my friend demands I get a sub.. don't care much but if I upgrade something I may as well go all the way. And what's this I just read about upgrading the amp? (I don't know what the amp does..)

I've maxed out the radio volume a couple times before (Seems like from 35-40 the volume doesn't increase at all.) Let's address that while we're at it.

Spend my money!

BTW,

Not really looking for much more bass, I have mine set at 9 and think it sounds pretty good.

I listen to mostly Metal, Late 90's+ rock, alternative. (i.e. Demon hunter, linkin park, Rise against, devil driver, blind guardian, etc.)

Budget ∞

I'm using (with the factory USB option) the USB port in the center console.

You won't be able to change bluetooth quality / features without changing much larger parts and that is complicated.

The factory sub is low quality and the BostonA system actually hurts my ears a bit as it provides off coloring in various frequency ranges to the music and they have bad dynamic range. Some people may not notice this or care. The factory sub is not that difficult to switch out.

The BostonA amp is supposed to be the really bad part of the system as well.

If you are mostly happy, it may not be worth the effort.

I don't think I have a rear sub at all.

What larger parts do I have to change out to make the blutooth good quality? The mustang has wayy better blutooth, sorry to say. I don't mind big projects.

Bad source? How do CDs sound in comparison? Make sure the device you're sending the signal with isn't maxed out on volume. My mp3 player sounds like garbage when it gets turned up past ~80% volume.

I keep the volume on it at about 70%. I never considered a bad source b/c all the threads about bad blutooth quality. I am using a droid charge. My friends phone didn't do any better. There is no option on the phone for adjusting the treb mid bass. On the head unit under aux changing those three does a little but almost nothing..

Update. Just tried a 3rd phone that came out recently. Still sounds weak, I would discribe it as almost muffled. Any other ideas/suggestions? (Is there really only 1 rear speaker? I was just messing with the fader.)

There are a few thing going on here my need To consider the quietly the bandwidth of music or compaction this will give poor audio out put when dealing with Bluetooth must phones now have a2dp witch work the best sound is going to be throw USB or aux for now one of these two is going to have a higher single to noise and get you closer to cd quietly. If you going to change out the radio aftermarket radio are set up to conpensate for the compaction If you are going all out on a system might wont to look at jl or kicker they have sub set up for you car already all you need to do is add amp maybe head unit. They also have 5ch amp the will give more power then what you are working with now You might find your self going from 70% to 25 may 40%
