Yeah, I asked the dealership to tint my windows. Funny thing though, since it's sitting on the showroom floor I've never seen the windows up and the rear triangle windows and rear window look already tinted. haha... GM is offering a $500 compensation for anyone who wants to buy a new vehicle (as seen here... http://media.gm.com/product/public/u...on-recall.html ) so I do also agree that I shouldn't be left out because this was in fact not something I was even warned about.

Either way... From the post here http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=365408 the fix seems so stupid and simple that the parts should be pretty readily available to the 34,000 inventoried vehicles while they continue production for the other 478,000 already purchased vehicles that most people would likely not even want the fix for anyway.
That first link is about compensation for anyone who lost a loved one or suffered injuries due to an accident caused by the ignition failure of 2003-2007 vehicles.

No we all will be pissed if the 2015 is delivered with. New key and fob , while our purchased cars are sitting there, if they should of shipped keys first then continued production. My car arrived the day of the recall and have not driven it, but the salesman , a mechanic, and the lot boy has, this is effin bull$h@t.

I don't know yet how to update the thread title...

My dealership just called and said they got THREE sets of keys in and mine was one of them, so within a matter of hours (they said the key actually needs to be cut) I should be able to pick up my new ride.

I hope this can help others know people are actually receiving these items.

This is only for the ignition switch recall, not the Camaro ignition KEY/REMOTE issue.

I don't see anything about a rebate on the Camaro recall.

I don't know how they could have received any new keys, as the recall bulletin doesn't even have a part number to order a replacement key yet.

I know some people on this forum work at dealerships, who ordered them.
Hopefully they see this and post the part number.

I work at a dealership and we can't order keys. We have numerous cars waiting for delivery...including mine...and have no info. except the memo that was released today and that gives NO part numbers to order.

Try making a thread to get their attention to post the part number?
