My SS vs 04 cobra

A buddy just picked up a 04 cobra. not sure whats all done to it. He said not much so I'm assuming bolt ons and maybe a bigger a pulley. Pretty sure we wont be racing till next spring/summer.
As off now My mods are CAI, 1 7/8 headers (kooks), full borla exhaust w/out HFC on a 6 speed. Pretty soon ill be putting in a cam then of course i'll do the tune. I'm not sure what HP i will be at but i'm hoping to put him in the ground.. on the side note, have you ever wondered why the car would be called MUSTANG COBRA? put the two and two together lol don't get me wrong i like those but dumb name for it.

cheers!!! good to know!! Man these mods never stop do they??! I know a lot of people are against it but I'm probably going to buy nitrous. 75 shot shouldn't hurt anything on the bottom end? I need to find out whats the highest I can go w out doing any major mods.

150 shot on an ls3 all day long.

The key is to have all the safety measures present.

-Colder plugs (NGK tr6)
-Window Switch
-***PROPER TUNE***

I can't stress that enough...the tune will make or break you.

Without knowing more about the cobra it could be making 400rwhp or 500rwhp with bolt ons. If he isn't on the stock blower the sky is the limit. There is no way of knowing without knowing the mods. As for the name, I have always thought of it this way: have you ever seen a horse run after it sees a snake?

yes but i'm worried a 150 shot will be to much to stock bottom end??

Well i looked at the engine bay picture and can't really tell. pic is to far away, but i did notice nitrous hook up... so that worries me. i guess we'll have to wait until next year when the track re opens up to see who's faster..

Older thread but I found out more about his Cobra and no way of me winning unless I buy a nitrous kit of 150 even with that I think he can beat me on a roll. What I've been hearing is that his car has around 650 to the wheels. Pullied + nitrous + e85 etc... I do have a cam in my garage just looking for springs and pushrods and I possibly might order a nitrous kit of 150. But with the weight difference he'll get me. BUT if we race from the dig to a 1/4 mile. I know I can get him bc of my drag radials. Most likely he wont race from the dig tho

Yeah I know that's why I said what I said. Only way of me having a chance is on the track just bc drag radials and that's with bolt on plus the 150 shot.

Better bring more than bolt ons against a bolt on cobra. Must of them are over 450 rwhp for cheap and will eat a 5th gen. Need that cam or 150 shot big time lol.

Well I'll be doing both eventually. Its getting built in order. I just don't feel like dropping a grand between springs a nitrous kit. But it looks like I will have to. Oh and then 500 for a tune...
