NEW JL 1000 WATT Custom Audio Build Pics!

Combined thread.
Here are the photos of my JL audio build. The amp is not mounted yet because I found out it needed serviced as I was setting it up. Also I am building a custom ported rear panel to cover the pass through! Once I get it thumping I may need more insulation in the trunk lid void. I have a C.A.D. drawing of the box with dimmensions if anyone wants? Trust me it is the best size that will fit in the trunk.
I used a 1000/1 JL amp.
12"W7.
JL audio remote bass adjust.
Aluma Pro 5 farad cap.
Stinger 135 amp breaker.
EL wire to light the internals of the amp.
All 3/4 MDF box 2x in the front plate.
The RCA were spliced into the X3 connector with Stinger solder females.
4 Gauge wire.

Here is a video. The rattle is really not that bad, sounds worse in the video. I am goint to put some expanding foam in the trunk lid gap to add support to the middle. The amp is on ZERO gain of the high level! I could probably switch it to low and run it half, I will have to do some adjusting. Either way it sounds AMAZING now and the stock BA mids and highs keep up decent.

Build and roof flex.

Just roof flex.

what is the selonoid below the circuit breaker for?

it also looks like you have 3 runs of power wire running from teh battery... or am I missing something?

I'm guessing the solenoid is for the remote turn on, and I see multiple runs of power coming out of the battery area too.

Wasted your money on the cap, should have upgraded your battery.

Otherwise the enclosure looks pretty good in there.

Yes, selonoid is active with the remote to turn on the cap. It just looks like three runs cuz I used the factory wires as a channel to run mine to keep it clean.

There are not multiple runs. One run from the battery to the breaker then to the selonoid then back to the cap. The cap was given to me unused so I figured I would make use of it. I'm not big on replacing things that are not worn out yet, ie the battery. After awhile I may put in another battery, there is plenty of room for one.

There is about 4 to 5 inches above the entire enclosure. I extended the carpet all the way up to hide it. There will be a board in the pass through with ports in it. I used a lot of sound mat and may need to add more but am waiting for the amp to come back from JL, could be 2 weeks.

He's not trapping anything in the trunk. Bass is omnidirectional and the wavelengths are big. Maybe if he wrapped the trunk in lead it would be trapped, otherwise, he's good. Rattle? Yep, unless it's heavily deadened. Trapped? Ain't happening, not to any amount a human ear will pick up.

Could not have said it better meself. Try telling any cop within 200 yards of my other cars bass is trapped in the trunk. I could have used it as an excuse to get out of some tickets.

You might want to double check with jl but if I do remember you should not use a cap with a slash amp. It will mess up the rips power supply.

Thanks, I didn't even think of that. I'll give them a call when I get the amp back. Good looking out.
