I love the car but I don't see them selling 4000 of them over 2 years. The first dealers to get them will mark them up, and they will sit. Let's figure that they will base around $65k or so. That kind of money will buy you one hell of a Corvette with change left over. If the car was priced between the 1LE and the ZL-1 they would hit the number with room to spare. If it would base around $50k-$55k, they'd have a home run on their hands.

GM may intend to only sell that amount. If it's customers ask for more, they'll give them more.
Little known fact that has not been released,(Little birdie told me that's close to GM) The ZL-1 was only suppose to have a 2 year release of 500 cars per year with the 3rd year of productions over 1500. Now we see that they make as many as demand needs. GM is in the business to make money, not to put out limit number cars. That's just a bad business model.

I will be surprised if GM makes 4,000 Z/28's. I see production hitting around 2,000 total. Most of the Z/28 buyers will be collectors or hardcore track enthusiasts.

I love the new Z-28, I just think it's suicide where they priced it. The Z-28 has ALWAYS been a working mans Corvette, priced for the middle class blue collar guy. Now it's way out of that range. I've owned 6 Z-28's through the years, I doubt I'll be able to afford a new one again.

As mentioned above, the LS7s built for the Z/28 are ONLY from Wixom (which was extended for this build ONLY), NOT from Bowling Green. The limited number of engines is your "maximum" answer.

GM's forecast probably thinks it will only sell 1500-2000 a year so when they make their budgets etc they are planning on only selling 4000 units. Now if demand hits 3000 in 2014 im pretty sure GM will plan on 3000 units for 2015. Keep in mind this is a hardcore car - no a/c, no radio, tires that will wear out after what 5000 miles of driving on the road and cost about 2k+ replace. Most enthusiast will walk past the Z/28 to the ZL1 if they have 0 desire to track the car. 2014 is probably out of the question but i will be getting my financials in order for 2015 MY Z if it is south of 70k. The other great thing is that 4000 units should keep gouging low from dealers (hopefully) |

I read in another thread that a GM exec said it would be the most expensive Camaro ever offered. If that includes the COPO then you are talking north of 90k. If they mean streetable Camaros then I would say expect to pay 70-80k.
