Wtf......when I was younger I went 118mph in a 77 Volare with a 318. These cars are more then capable of high speeds with no issues. Now that Volare was a trip.

Limited to 155mph. Doubtful you'll reach it without mods or going downhill.
Mine felt like I was flogging it to hit 139 before the Overkill tune. (best $500.00 Mod I've ever done)

My 2011 with Trifecta tune. I had hit 155 before, but didn't film it. This time (after getting the camera ready) I just ran out of track before hitting top speed.

The V6 is for people who want a muscle care but maybe cant afford the high performance versions. 0 to 60 in just under 6 seconds, is slow no matter what vehicle you're in. There are family saloon cars that'll go to 60 quicker than that. Like countless people have said before, if you want speed and performance, get either a SS, GT or an SRT-8.
I don't know why you say that. 0- 60 in the 5 sec range and 1/4 mile time in the 13's is definitely NOT slow. In fact, I would be so bold as to say the V6 is pretty fast for what it is. The family "saloon" cars by the Germans don't count because they list for 10's of thousands more than a Camaro, even the faster V8 Camaros, that can smoke them silly for well under $50K.

However, if you're talking about the domestics, well the V6 Camaro can hold it's own unless it's a SRT8, CTS-V, ATS-V or Impala SS. If you're talking about the import V6's like the Camry, Maxima /Altima and Hyundai and Honda models, the little Camaro V6 can hold its own with them too.

To say the V6 is not a performance car is being less than honest. The V6 offers performance only available on high performance V8 cars less than a decade earlier. We are just spoiled by the unbelievable supercar-like capability now available with today's V8's.

I read in car and driver or road and track, one of those two, where they removed the limiter on the V-6 RS, V-8 SS, and the ZL1 to find the terminal speed on the different Camaro models. The RS package V-6 was 162, SS V-8 was 175, and the ZL1 was 191. Very impressive in all stock trim.

Mine was pulling strong at 140mph. Stock, loaded 2LT on 87 octane. Been there 3 times, pretty sure it has 150 in it, it just takes a while and I don't wanna go to jail, especially a Mexican jail.

156 limited I think.

I installed Hex Vents in the Hood for a better every-day driving experience with less front end Float at normal high speeds :-)

Not sure I understand the "Front end float" or getting light. My car is very stable and confidant at speed.

Agreed, I drove my 197.8 prior to doing any ground effects modifications... I've now been 230 ish and no issues... Not to say a bump in the track or a cross wind won't upset the car... Stuff happens but my car is incredibly stable at speeds much higher than most will ever go...

Disclaimer: This is in a straight line race... No cornering is involved, at least not on purpose..

All of this is done on a race track at a sanctioned event, specifically the Texas Mile.. Driving like this on the street/highway isn't legal and we do not allow posting about it.
