Thumbs down Saints coach Sean Payton suspended for 2012 season by NFL

New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton was suspended without pay for the 2012 season by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, and former Saints defensive coordinator Gregg Williams was banned indefinitely on Wednesday because of the team's bounty program that targeted opposing players.

Wow! Talk about your death penalty. Brees is not signed yet either, tagged, but not signed. This also leaves the Rams without a defensive coordinator. But yeah, message needed to be sent!

I'm just waiting to see if any players who were injured while these bounties were on them file lawsuits....

This should have criminal punishment if you ask me. If you willfully hurt someone or pay someone to willfully hurt someone that's a crime. These guys should be in jail and never allowed to play the game or even step foot inside of a stadium ever again.

Its not that easy to put a "big hit" on someone and take them out of the game. I think this is a little over blown, there should be "some" punishment but not this.

It's not easy to kill the president either ,but if you do you will surly fry as you should. Besides they did cause serve injury to other players as a result of their criminal behavior.

Again its football. Nobody showed as much outrage when the Patriots were cheating by spying on practices. Bounties have been going on for decades, why all the outrage now?

And really, comparing this to the attempted murder of a president. Have you never played sports? This happens all the time, always will.

To be honest, I think this is a flavor of the month outrage. If it was a 2 to 4 game suspension none of us would care once the season started.

The problem is the extra pay for the game ending hits,

but anyone who think in football its all chummy chummy and not like a world war for every game has been decieved.

They want to hit you so hard you never get up so they win. No one holds back to make it fair cause they are all NFL player.

Kill anyone who has the ball by any means legal, and when a reff isn't looking.........

but their regular pay covers that, they don't need extra money, that was the dumb part.

This.

Let's stop acting like this was the attempted murder of a president.
