Is this a fair price?

I was at my local chevy dealer for a recall issue and noticed they had a 2011 2ss/rs automatic transmission convertable for sale. Its a new car with 40 miles on it. They are asking 40k for it, which seems a bit high considering its 2 years old already.
After reading about the issues you guys have with the tops getting holes worn in them as well as the oil leak issues , rear end noise, etc. I wonder if there is any leverage to get that price down.
I am very happy with my 2012 and will be keeping it as well. Any input would be appreciated.

I PROMISE you there is room to negotiate that price. We bought a new '11 2SS/RS vert with 1800 miles on it just 3 weeks ago The sticker was $43,895. And I can assure we paid no where near that. That vehicle is costing them money at this point, especially since the '13s are on the ground.

Actually it's only 1 1/2 years old as they didn't start production until Feb 2011, but still... Unless it has a few options on it, yes that price is high.

I thought the 2ss/rs was considered fully loaded. It did not have any features that my 2012 2lt/rs did not have.

I'd want more of a discount. The 2013 will be out soon

They will give you a huge discount trust me. There was a 2012 2LT / RS that was MRSP $33,500, it was LISTED for $23,500 and this car was brand new with 44 miles on it

That would be a fantastic deal, however we are talking about the 2ss/rs vert.

MSRP on that car would be around 43,500. Kelly Blue Book (purchasing from a dealer) is around 38,200. He's asking too much imo.

Unless you can get if for 38K or less - I would be looking at a later 2012 build or a 2013, in the hopes that the top, 5th bow and water management bag issues have been addressed.

Good luck -

I just purchased a 2013 2SS/RS Automatic Convertible with Rally Stripe and Polished wheels for well under invoice.

Plus, I got to order the car the way I wanted it. I would talk your dealer down more on the 2011.

That would be a hell of a deal on a 2LT with only 44 miles on it. Wish they were discounted like this in AZ. Probably would be lucky to get a 2010 2LT for that here

Even the 2SS/RS had several options available.

Including optional exahust systems, option shifter if it was a manual, strips, GFX, wheels, etc, etc, etc

I agree with the above posts. I just traded in a 2011 coupe for a 2011 vert and they were very ready to deal with us, we even walked away with 0 percent financing. As far as all the problems I hear good with the bad.

I bought my 2011 2SS/RS vert with 350 miles three weeks ago. The sticker was 44,3XX and I paid $38,150.

Just curious, how many miles on each?
