Interior hints from 2016 introductions
Based on what we've seen in the 2016 Volt interior and now the 2016 Malibu interior, I think it's safe to speculate the following:
Center stack, including large touch display is common between Volt and Malibu. The center HVAC vents are different in both and stylized. The steering wheel is common in both the Volt and Malibu. Wheels tend to be common across many models with the difference being trim on the arms or spokes. Horn pad and wheel are generally common. Still need to see the center stack if you don't get the large MyLink display.

Notice any other similarities that could be common across models.
Inside door handles?

Regardless, I think both Volt and Malibu interiors hint at significant improvement for the Camaro.
Unless they try to incorporate too much retro or heritage. Some is ok. A lot? I'm hoping not.

Both look great IMO. I never realized how sporty the volt interior is until now.

Also note push button start in the Malibu. Pretty much guarantees it for the Camaro now.

So a Malibu on the inside, too?

I'd say push button start is a no brainer and has been for a while.. No way one of these newer cars that isn't a compact or subcompact will come without push button.
I'm excited. Can't wait to get the damn Car in my hands.. Can you guys believe it? Don't even have a month and a half to a reveal!! May will be here before we know it. |

I thought the same thing when I saw the Malibu photos... This is likely what the Camaro will look like...
I don't know how I feel about it. The Volt and Malibu interiors look nice but does it fit the character of a Camaro? I like the gen5 interior's distinctive "look" overall and had it come with soft material on the dash, console and door panels it wouldn't have gotten the bad rap

There's been a lot of talk about interiors. I can honestly say, for me, the interior does not factor into my decision for a car like this. Granted, this is more of a toy car for. It might mean more if it was a DD. It's going to come down to HP and performance metrics.

I'm also guessing the Camaro will get the Malibu cluster. And IMO that would be a good thing compared to today.

I hope the Camaro interior is completely different. I like the Malibu interior better than the Volt even though they are very similar. I also have to say that I like the Malibu steering wheel better than the Corvette's, I think they could do a sportier version of the Malibu wheel on the new Camaro. After the key recall I am guessing all GM vehicles will have button start from now on.

I still have a feeling Chevy has ruined the car.
A Camaro should look like a Camaro; outside AND inside. And it should look like a muscle/pony car. Have a suspicion that the new one will not. I know a lot of people are not fond of the retro look, but a car like this needs to hark back to the glory days. Anything else is a mistake.

Do we have similar comparison of the interiors in the older models?
Also, I am still hoping for a corvette styled interior in the 6th gen. |
